I enjoy this thread and I would have to agree on the one fact about why people are pissed. Being gay should be a choice, as is the choice to BE gay in the game. I would not personally choose a male shepard to be gay, but I am sure there are types who would view "their" shepard to be such

The game is made in canada, likely one of the top ten gay friendly countries. We should show that to the world.

Well... I can't say I know of much games that have gay romances. I know of fewer movies that have them. And I know of no song that is about any of them. Thus all of the developers that were in the process of creating these movies, games and songs that lack them are obviously homophobic, no?

Truth most of the games I know with gay romance are lulzy enough JRPGs. And a couple of BioWare games, and Fallout 2.

I agree, up to a certain point. But like it was said before, if they put romance between females in the game, what kept them from adding romance between males? As far as I can see, nobody asked for something 100% new, they just want to see the "other side of the story", wich wasn't included.

I agree that if they have the possiblity for lesbian couples in the game, then they should have the ability to have gay couples as well. Note, that's "ability." If Bioware or EA are worried about throwing people of or "weirding them out" by having same sex couples in their games, don't force the existence of said couples. Instead, seeing as to how this game is all about choices, allow the players to choose paths that will either lead them down that on their own free will or not.



An example of this idea already practiced is in Dragon Age. You got hit on by the elf assasin that was bisexual, but if you said "no" straight from the beginning, or anytime thereafter, it ended it. No more having to worry about uncomfortable sexual inuendos for those that do not what they or see them as immoral. If they're going to include alternate sex practices in a game, then they should allow the POSSIBILITY to have either type of them at the individual PLAYER'S discretion.

You call the CEO an idiot and moron the very fact that there was Thane/M!Shep and Kaidan/M!Shep audio files in the game should tell you that BioWare is not homophobic. <_<

More than likely they were stopped from putting it in. Most likely by someone above who thought it would harm their "profits". The BioWare devs aren't completely to blame for this. (Though honestly they really should have taken the lesbian relationships out to cover their ass).
