The difference is on is art, the other Pornography.

Heavy Rain is art

while ME is just a game, the romances are cartoonish

But now you have to define what art is, which is an impossible thing to do. Art means different things to different people. For instance, I'm of the opinion that games are an art form. Which means, in my opinion, ME has as much justification to include romance/nudity (though niether is required) as Dante and Heavy Rain.

I didn't like the Heavy Rain sex scene though. It was too drawn out for me personally *ducks*

Ryzaki, ME2 romances were porn? Whatever you are smoking, I want it! :-P

ME2 looks rather ridiculous with fully clothed characters implying sexual acts. Who does that?? It just looks really strange.....

No I didn't explain myself clearly.

Jacob's sex scene and Miranda's felt more like softcore porn than an actual...you know romance. :?

Porn with clothes on at that. So not only was it b-grade porn, it was bad b grade porn. <_<

To me anyways. =]

Who even cares about any of this. Let Bioware do what they want. The majority of the world is heterosexual, so just appease them.

lol. Especially with that horrible Shepard impersonation.

I'd hate to break this to you, but there is plenty of M/M recordings on the official ME1 disk, and even an M/M recording for Thane on the ME2 disk.  No need for impersonation.

Did you watch it? Sounds like a kid trying to make a deep voice.

Whatever Stanley Woo says, FOX News must have gotten to BioWare.... How else to explain those fully clothed "sex" scenes?

I think you are imagining it.   Many people, including myself, have already went through the sound files and found a plenty of same-sex dialog.
This clip is a good example:

They americanized the game.

Also majority argument.

The majority of people are men - Only they should be appeased
The majority of humans are christian - Only they should be appeased

You see where I'm going with that yes?

Also guy that thinks Meer sounds like a 12 year old - You are aware that's why some people hate his voice No?

And if he thinks Mass Effect is cartoonish why does he even care if there are gay romances in it?

You don't have to be 12 to see the comedy in a gay super soldier traveling the galaxy, fighting evil. Sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit.

A homosexual supersoldier traveling the galaxy and fighting evil is no more hilarious than a heterosexual supersoldier traveling the galaxy and fighting evil.

Yes, a transvestite hero too. Nothing at all humorous about that. They're just people saving the galaxy, right?

Please. There's a reason why there are no female or gay  main characters in GTA games as well. Because it would be unrealistic and/or comical to have a girl or gay dude running around the city making hits and running a crime organization. Rockstar is not sexist or homophobic. They make what works in the context of the game.

Saints Row 2 and the Ballad of Gay Tony think otherwise

Isn't Gay Tony a major character?    GTA games are not RPGs however.   In GTA games, you play a character who has a fixed gender, name, facial appearance, background, etc.   On the other hand, Commander Shepard is a customizable character who is supposed to represent the player.

Not imagining anything. Sounds like a kid doing a deep voice. Especially the clip in Chora's Den. Everyone else's dialogue is exactly the same for the female Shepard.

Really? Eh even better. Reverse that.

Now you have to deal with chick flicks all the bloody time.

And a severe decrease in the amount of female fetish fuel in video games. Which frankly could only be a good thing. <_<

Edit: No I was right. There are typically 105 males to every 100 females. :pinched:

It evens out due to boys dying younger and such.

Why are you even arguing about this when there is a plenty of other same-sex dialog voiced by Meer?  I don't see your point.

Arik arguing with him is like arguing with the Westboro Church about gay rights. You'd be better off screaming at a wall.

Gay Tony is not the main character. You do not play as him.

RPGs only offer so much customization. Maybe there are women here who prefer a white human romance. There was no option for them in ME2 because your choices are limited. Maybe I want to play my Shepard as a drag queen because that's what I am in real life. I can complain until the cows come home that my Shepard does not represent me and that I require my choice, but at the end of the day, the game is what Bioware made it and I have to live in the confines of what the game allows.

Isn't it common knowledge that the M/M scenes were recorded and animated (and, thus, not some creepy deep voiced kid on Youtube)? I may remember incorrectly, but didn't Bioware acknowledge their existence when explaining why they were cut?

There has always been nudity in some games, Games =/= Art. However, Shadow of Colossus and Heavy Rain are exceptions.
