You should give your computer's specs when asking for technical help.
If you have a single core CPU, make sure to install the 1.01 patch, it fixes a number of hanging problems with them.

Hi, yer sorry about that, no problem with spec ( he says ),, Dell quad 4- 6600, ATI 5800 1GB. and it does seem to be hanging, only way to do any thing is ctr/alt/del, task manager says programe not responding, (problem event app hang b1).

Hmm, interesting. Re-install would have been my next suggestion, but you've already done that.
With that new a Dell, I'm going to guess you have Windows 7 or at least Vista. You could try turning on administrative rights and/or XP Compatibility for ME2, see if that makes a difference. I don't have any good/specific ideas though, I'm afraid.
You could check on Dell's website to make sure your drivers are up to date on Dell's website. I would expect them to be new enough since that sounds like a pretty new machine, but it's worth a try.

Yes running Vista 32 bit 2 years old, the Ati is 5890 1gb, 4 gb ram,Thanks
