There is always so much hype about the Olympics but I find the events to be mostly boring and coverage of it clogs too much of the airways.
I could care less about which team from which country wins because anyone who wants to judge a nation because of a team is an idiot anyways.
So yeah. Olympics are boring and watching them is a waste of time.
Olympics...anyone else not care?

I just like watching great athletes perform. If you think that's boring, don't watch. That's not too hard, is it?
My airwaves aren't too flooded, though, so I probably have it a fair bit better than you.

I love the olympics, every four years, the biggest days of many athletes lives. It's pure win.

Borsch, what do YOU like?
I thought a "healty person" like you would like sports.
Edit: I myself dont root for this or that country, i just want to see athletes doing what they do best.

I don't care whether X country wins Y amount of medals, but I do enjoy watching athletes compete and how they demonstrate their skill for the sport. If you think about it, there's an art and mastery to the seemingly simplest of actions - ski jumping, for instance. If your average Joe or Jane tried that without prior experience, he or she would probably be reduced to paste at the end of the landing given the height and velocity that the ski jumper travels. The professionals are impressive, though.
Basically, I find the Olympics worth watching for that reason. Otherwise, I'm not big on sports patriotism.

I'm going to agree here. What would the op be watching that's so interesting, anyway? Friends and Stenfield reruns? Episode 4952 of the Simpsons?
I don't care for the Olympics personally, but it's not like it's replacing better television.

I just like watching Women's Gymnastics and Women's Figure-skating. I wish there was a National Bikini Football League too, but that has yet to manifest itself fully.

I really don't like watching anything. I don't watch any TV shows and I will watch maybe one or two movies a year.
Only thing I watch is the news and the Olympics are annoying me because coverage of the Olympics is pushing out other news stories.
The only sedentary hobby I enjoy is gaming and I don't do that to excess.
I enjoy participating in physical activities, watching them however is as boring as sin. Thats just me though. Nothing against people who feel otherwise, I was just curious as to whether or not anyone else thinks the Olympics is kinda boring.

Yep, I have to sometimes wonder if there's something wrong with me (nah... right?) that I couldn't care less about the Olympics anymore. People at work talk about it / stream it / watch it on TV, and all I can hope for is that the McDonalds endorsing athletes finally go away.
I agree about it being boring to watch. I recall some of the most boring TV in my youth was on the weekend when things like football was on the air. Just being outside and doing anything else was much more interesting - like riding a bike in the park.

I watched the Canada/US mens hockey game. That's as far as my Olympic caring ever goes.
I am sick of the few TV shows that I actually bother to watch being preempted by Olympic stuff.

From what I caught it looked exceptionally boring; 5 minutes of whatever followed by 10 minutes of commercials.
I hate all forms of 'professional' sports though so couldnt care less one way or the other

I have never understood why so many people love to watch sports. It's fun to play but just watching?

I'm with AntiChri5 on this one. I've tried watching the olympics numerous times over the years. I've also tried watching baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. Every time I end up bored out of my mind. It's very different experience from actually playing. I don't mind that the olympics exist. It's nice to have something that brings countries together in honest competition as opposed to literal war, but it's not for me.

I enjoy couple's figure skating. I consider dance a performance art though, not a sport.

I hate it when I'm at work and then someone asks me.
"So what did you think of the game?"
Why does everyone assume I watched "the game?"

I generally hate all televised sports events, for the simple reason that they have a tendency to preempt shows I actually want to watch. Goddamn [several self-censored, very nasty expletives] athletes who can't finish their soccer or hockey matches on time. I HATE THEM ALL!
Just thinking about it fills me with a seething rage, so I'll leave this thread now...

The Olympics are pretty much it for me when it comes to watching sports. I used to love watching the Olympics but in recent years I have found myself tuning in less and less. Perhaps it is the increasingly skewed coverage in the States. As to rooting for a particular country, for me it is by event when I care to watch.

What is TV? I remember there was something that had light and little persons inside doing weird things, but my mind is not clear...

Watch a game, if you care, on average you have a 50-50 chance of being disappointed.
Watch a race with 6 competitors, if you care, on average you have a 5/6 chance of being disappointed.
Took me several decades to realize that. Life is too short for disappointments. Now I only watch games/events where "my" team/athlete is overwhelmingly favored.
Hmmm...would that be considered a lame tactic to use in life?

I agree completely! I loved playing different sports with friends all the way through HS, but can't stand to watch it. My gf, on the other hand, watches football every chance she gets. I asked her why she likes it so much once while she was watching a game and the only answer I got was "TOUCHDOWN!!!" lol

I never watch conventional sports. I make an exception for the Winter Olympics. Snowboarding/Skiing/Skating are just too much fun to watch. Also, they're short, so I can sit down for three minutes, then do something productive. Conventional sports games can take an entire afternoon, and that's not something I'm willing to give up.
