Ugly Shepard was tired of living in a spaceship. It was just too cramped and crowded, and Garrus was starting to get suspicious about his mysteriously dwindling drug stash. So Ugly Shepard decided to rent an apartment on Illium. Lots of cuties and drugs.
Some Extranet searches revealed that the best place to be was in Dantius Towers. Ugly Shepard went to the local Taxi stand to get some transportation.
The dispatcher glanced at Ugly Shepard, shuddered, and summoned a driver who smelled like she hadn't bathed in ages.
She seemed a little...off...
...but she called Ugly Shepard a "handsome devil."
Ugly Shepard liked her!
And so they made their way over to the towers.
Wheeee!
The towers were big. Ugly Shepard was impressed. He could have the ultimate bachelor pad.
The taxi took off. Ugly Shepard went inside to find a rental agent. It was harder than he thought. At first, none of the employees wanted to even look at him, never mind talk to him.
He had to pull out his gun to get them to acknowledge his presence.
One of the employees directed him to a department several floors above.
Ugly Shepard was skeptical. People seemed to say anything to get him out of their faces. He went upstairs anyway.
But the people in that department were even less helpful than the first group. One of them simply fainted at the sight of him.
Ugly Shepard had enough.
He decided to go straight to the owner. No way would he be ignored again. He wanted his sweet bachelor pad of love, and he was going to get it no matter what.
He reached her at last.
The owner knew that he was a potential customer, and that credits were credits. But his credits were UGLY credits, and she would have no ugly people in her apartments. She instructed her staff to shoo him away.
Ugly Shepard stood firm. He had come all this way to get an apartment, and a couple of people with guns weren't going to stop him. He just had to explain his situation and, if nobody died, he would certainly get the apartment he desired.
But unfortunately, a very disgruntled Drell janitor had chosen that moment to hand in his resignation. Quite violently.
This just wasn't Ugly Shepard's day.
He recognized talent when he saw it, though, and convinced the unemployed janitor to join his team.
