I never used the dog. Alistair I liked as a character mostly because Leilana is more a character who comes onto you, Morrigan is too shrewish and Shale refers to you as "it". Alistair however is more friendly.

Alistair Usually he's my romantic interest in the game too but hes a gray warden first in my mind. Makes the PC and him "bond" like no other of the companions.



But I also enjoyed running around with Zevran a lot too. He makes a wonderfully loyal friend and fantastic traveling companion.

Alistair was always my character's love interest but as far as who I imagine they were closest to, that would probably be Morrigan and Oghren.

I found Alistair to whinnie and annoying even for a graywarden i always swaped him out for loghain.

Zevran was fun to travel with cuse he would say the most funny things at random times and if you pair him with wynne the banter is halarius. him and oghren is jsut priceless. both being rude humoris charetore it wasa  perfect match up.

See, I have to cheat, because Zevran was both. My Dalish started out in a romance with Morrigan and was quite smitten... so I intended to just to the whole bromance thing with Zev... But then that romance felt like it was growing a bit cold, and Zevran and him were the perfect team in battles. After Zev taught him Assassin specialization I couldn't take it anymore. My Dalish was his. lol



I like to play them different from the dramatic mushy type of romance, though... More like two friends who respect each other and are a lot alike personality wise, who found that they really enjoy the sex, too. That works.

Oghren! He's the bestest buddy you can have - just wait until you get his approval up high and he starts talking to you, rather than pretending not to sulk. Very happy he's the returning character in Awakenings.

Or one who has been castrated chemically. Technically, a man who has a vasectomy is a eunuch, but unsurprisingly, referring to them as such isn’t socially permissible.

Ok so Shale is but a simple vessel that is neither male or female but simply contains the soul of a female dwarf.  Ergo Shale is truly neither male or female LOL

Well, it was primarilly Zevran, seconded by Morrigan.

Actually, Morrigan tend to be the BFF of my good-guy!Cousland, oddly enough. Leliana was too stalkerish, Zevran too perverted, and Alistair was her love interest so...



She always treated Morrigan kindly, and while Morrigan didn't appreciate the good deeds Cousland performed, but eventually went to consider Cousland the first friend she ever had. >.< Which was probably what sparked my Cousland into accepting the ritual: Morrigan was her <i>friend</i>, of course she believed her!



My douchebag!Surana playthough, however, ended up with Alistair and Leliana as his BFFs. Leliana somehow got the message fairly early on that Surana was <i>not</i> interested in her romantically, and instead chose to tease him mercilessly about his love triangle with Morrigan and Zevran. And Surana considered it his life's mission to Get Alistair Laid, so they were pretty good friends in the end (until he spared Loghain, forced Alistair to marry Anora, and then did the ritual so Loghain lived. Uh, oops?)



Moral of the story: Leave them at camp and spam them with gifts. Then you'll be BFFs for sure!
