Either Alistair for his comic relief or Sten for his laser focus on defeating the Blight. Sometimes Sten's disapproval is a good indication that I took the easy way out.

This is what my first also saw as his greatest achievement. Well except getting Cammen laid, that should be impossible.

But he had Sten and Oghren by his side. Morrigan was his LI so she doesn't count.

My best friend was certainly Leliana. My PC was a girl, and I enjoyed her company a lot because I had someone with whom I could discuss girlish things (like hairdos, fashion, and even the sexual performance of Alistair, my PC's boyfriend). And we also had many things in common (we were both kind, merciful, loyal and visionary).

I was never able to trust Morrigan completely, and we also had a totally different world vision, so, although we were also good friends, we had more of a "love and hate" relationship.

I also had a special bond with Wynne, although sometimes she almost made me loose my patience, but I considered her as a mother (and since my PC was a HNF, she craved for that "replacement").

i would have to say shale, mostly because i loved her comic relief(not to mention the option to tell her she's cute after you find out she's a dwarf woman) Shale just cracked me up more than any one else....

As a guy, I found Alistair as my best buddy in the game. He may get on my nerves sometimes, but once he becomes hardened he is alot more tolerable and likeable.



Kind of thought the Duncan/Cailan relationship of the Grey Warden Commander fighting side by side with the King. Same duo with me and Alistair.



Sten is pretty cool. I like talking about his philosophies and his home. And there is never a time he wants to do battle.



Leliana grew on my character. Saying how I lit her path and all that mumbo-jumbo. I went with it, every badass hero needs a lady, right? Until she kills herself at the end due to your heroic sacrifice :'(



Morrigan I found to crude, and acting to much like your mom. You can tell there is a different person that wants to come out. One that wants to be cared for and one that wants to care for others. But her mom's influence has been carved into her.

Leliana (I'm a girl and play girl characters), until she got sweet on me! I didn't even realize she liked me until Alistair approached me about her feelings toward me. Talk about awkward.

My first Warden (male) was annoyed by Alistair after first meeting him, so at first opportunity I switched Alistair out for Sten. Alistair seemed like a vacuous pretty-boy. But along the adventure, my Warden got to know Alistair better and really admired him for his kindness and sense of duty, which lead them to become best friends. Which made it all the more painful for me at the end when I let Loghain into the Gray Wardens after promising to make Alistair king alongside Anora. When Alistair looks your character in the eye and says, "I thought we were friends"... it hurts.



My female city elf was bossy and macho and didn't really like anybody, but she softened up and got very close to Leliana, because deep down she loves shoes and pretty things. She even opened up to Morrigan towards the end, and I think got her up to 100 approval (through gifts more than anything else). Alistair was her love interest.



My sadistic human female noble is BFFs with Morrigan because of her fascination with the occult and utter disregard for others' feelings. She's also pretending to be interested in Leliana and Zevran so she can use them for sex.

Whoa, she KILLS herself? Glad i've never sacrificed a character then. Does she jump off a building or something? Poor thing. I knew she was mentally unstable.

'Twas Leliana, untill she fell in love with my Warden, forcing her to break up with Alistair. Excluding the best friend/lover, my other buddies were Shale, Zev, Oghren, Alistair & Rabbit. Sten decided to be a donkey and challenge my leadership, so I put him in a time-out at our camp, Wynne is just sitting there, and Morrigan is that friend nobody flipping likes.

As for my main, who was stuck in the mage tower most of his life, Alistair was pretty much his only friend after Jowan. Although, he liked hanging out with Morrigan as well. So, those two, with the LI being Leliana.

She was BFF with Zev and Shale. Alistair was her kept man, and would just "yes dear" her, so he doesn't count.

She had a platonic bromance with Alistair, and in my head Morrigan and her used to gang up and tease him mercilessly, albeit Morrigan's side being a litle more nasty since her hatred for Alistair is pretty strong. Also, Sten of all people >.>; She was with Zevran in the end, but their relationship is weird. Any realtionship with Zevran is a little weird, he's hard to romance.

Sten and Wynne were my buddies...yeah I don't understand it either....

I had the romance going with Alistair and Zevran, and chose Alistair over Zev. But Zev was still my best friend. I left him in charge while me, Al, and the mages went off to fight the archdemon, cos he's the only one I could trust.

Morrigan can be quite fascinating to talk to, and the change that comes over her when she talks about you being her friend was a pleasant surprise. Kinda sorry I was 'linked' with Leliana by then.

Speaking of friends, Leliana comes quite high...but then she's kind of trained in the art of subterfuge, so...heh.

Dog is a good companion, at full loyalty from the start, just a shame there's no real variety in the interactions. Not that much to do with a dog, i guess. Chuckled when he pulled his 'followed me home, can I keep him?'- bit.

Speaking FRIEND, with no ulterior motives or potential for betrayal of trust...Wynne. I don't think I've had a character yet who was not willing to listen to the old mage for hours on end...or at least as close to it as she would allow the older woman to strain for.

(Wonder; if you don't accept(?) the old warden and kick ali...is M's 'bloodmagic' strong enough to still pull it off? )

I was stunned when Morrigan gave me the sister talk the first time around. I was just walkin around camp talking to people and she hit me with this revelation and I was shocked. It was a very nice surprise and every time afterward I make sure I become friends with her.

Pirate (my dog) was my best pal. He completes me.

Humanwise, Alistair was my best male friend. But Leliana was my best friend overall, romantic interest and partner in crime.

For my first play (HN Warrior) Alistair was my buddy and adopted little brother, up to the point when he freaked out when I pardoned Loghain. I took it quite hard actually, so it was very well written to make me care enough to feel really hurt by the whole thing.



The one that is always with me as best friend though, whether also lover or not, is Leliana.

Alister was my buddy and romantic interest and Leliana was my girl gossiper. Sten was my comrade best friend buddy though. I ussually always ended up taking his advice in moral choices.
