I'd rather them be there than not, but in the end, it doesn't matter to me.

I'd rather them be there because now I have to do another playthrough, since my dual wielding warrior is going to be short a sword and I didn't keep any decent non-dlc ones.

You can buy a decent one from a merchant that would be good enough until you can loot better I'd imagine.

Any1 else find it kinda funny how in awakening you're supposed to be the Grey Warden Commander and yet 1 of the dlc items you cant transfer over is the Warden Commander Armour? Sorry Bioware but that's a fail. Typical, my favorite armour in the game is 1 of the few i cant transfer over, and for no reason! Wouldnt it be easier for BW to just let all items in rather than erect a specific barrier against dlc items? Even worse no romance option! Why do they taunt us with the hot blonde elven chick when we can't even romance her?! It's stupid to take features away when the whole point is to expand the game.

Don't really care, all my DLc stuff goes to my companions, since msot of it is useless to me as a rogue or mage. I'm hoping they focus on the other two classes gear more.

I just wish Bioware was more honest and told us before buying the first wave of DLC that none of it would be supported in any DA expansions.  Given what we know now, this is certainly something to consider next time when they surely release more DLC that won't be supported in the following expansion.

If you bought all the DLC like I did and don't feel at least slightly screwed by this, you either must have a ton of money to burn, or you spend your parent's money on everything.  I'm not sure who's the wiser in this scenario; Bioware or the software pirates...

You guys realize there's going to be way better items in the expansion pack? The DLC was for the main game, it will be underpowered by items you'll get in Awakenings.

Bearable loss is bearable.

Regardless of the better items in Awakenings it's still annoying. With RtO so delayed I had already run 4-5 chars through to completion (including the other DLC). I got RtO with it's 30-45 minutes of game play at a stage of the game where I honestly don't get to use or enjoy it beyond the story line..and that honestly would have worked better at an earlier stage of the bigger story anyway.

And then we get Awakenings..all of my characters will be missing at least 3-4 items..one nearly completely nekkid.

So the personal annoyance factors aside (yeah..I don't like it but I can deal with it from that aspect) there is the more important aspect..the role playing/story line. The loss of the Warden Commander armor has already been noted numerous times. For some of us it's an integral part of the character and the story. It's like waking up and going to work without pants. It only works in Nyc 1 day of the year.. Any other time you get arrested. In this case, I expect a warrior who goes off to battle with no weapon, no boots, no armor, etc etc to get dead. Maybe Nyc is more fun after all...

I really don't care. I buy the DLC for the gameplay, the story development, and the interaction with the characters, not for the loot. I can put Alistair in the king's armor when he goes to fight the Archdemon, and that's enough for me.

OF course we should have it.

Will they add it, no. Even if we whined all day, I doubt they really care, nor would they change anything.

Just accept it, move on. If you still want the game, then buy it. If you don't, then don't.

Hmm...

Not a big issue since i'll probably just make a custom mod to get through it or if i fail, someone else will...It'll be easy to bring the stats up to scratch..

I don't care.

I bought the DLC more for its expansion on the DA:O lore.

I kicked Cailen's armor and Warden Commander's gear to the side and stuck with Wade's and Juggernaut.

My personal take is unless they plan to have immediate upgrades to all equipment before you first enter combat it should carry over. I honestly can't think of an expansion before this where equipment didn't carry over at the very beginning, at least.

Otherwise the individuals that did purchase the equipment, and do use it are instantly handicapped. Which makes little sense. Especially from the consumer base they are attempting to build for DLC. If little else this seems, at least in business terms, a stupid thing to do to your own market.

I will NOT buy any more scrappy dlc for DAO or ME1&2 from now on BW/EA have spat in the face of loyal PAYING fans by crippling us at the start of this expansion, because we supported them. Shame on them..

Pirates and second hand copy purchases will be in a better position than true fans. IMO I will not get stung like this again they can get lost with their new rip off DLC policy.

I'd rather prefer not to start the game naked.

EDIT: I even heard it's some while from the start before you get some new gear, so it'll be a long stretch of nakedness.

I s'pose I could live without it, so long as there's a suitably inspiring replacement for my spiffy Warden Commander armor in the first 5 minutes of gameplay, along with a blade that can put Starfang to shame ;)

No but really, I love my Warden Commander armor - they better have something as equally aesthetically pleasing, with better stats to boot, for me to get over that one :P

So, they're going to make those items available right at the start? Why not just be done with it and include an "I win" button?

They said that they didn't realise it wouldn't until it was too late to change it for release, as well as saying that it would end up being underpowered with all the new gear in the expansion. They also said that this will not be repeated for future expansions (personally I don't see the need to build around the armor and weapons you get).

If you bought all the DLC like I did and don't feel at least slightly screwed by this, you either must have a ton of money to burn, or you spend your parent's money on everything.  I'm not sure who's the wiser in this scenario; Bioware or the software pirates...

I'm more miffed that Shale isn't going to be a companion (I kinda liked "Ol' Stoneface") than I am about the DLC items not transferring, since I gave my companions the DLC items (Cailan's Armor and weapons went to his half-brother, Wynne got the Blood Dragon Armor, and Ohgren got the Warden Commander Armor).

No, shame on you for building your character around specific items; I do not feel in the least slighted by Bioware because of their decision not to allow it to import at this time.
