Well, I've read a good deal of the bugs, glitches, issues, etc on this website. I seemed to be BLESSED by not having these issues, save for one VERY demeaning, fun-factor reducing glitch.

Now, believe me when I saw Mass Effect 2 is the BEST RPG I've EVER played. It REALLY is, but this ONE bug is ruining it for me.

Random lockups, and freezes. Just, out of the blue I'll freeze, and I'll have to turn the xbox off. Now, I do not have a 1st generation Xbox, I have a 3rd or 4th Generation, so I'm sure it's not likely the RROD(Considering how these freezes began as I bought ME2).

If anyone has ANY FIX for this, please let me know. As of now, I've:

Cleared my cache, no dice.

Checked to see if it was over-heating: No dice.

Installed it to my Hard drive: It only crashed one time so far, apart from it's very 'self-enjoying' 2+ times.

If anyone has any advice, that'd be great. Also, it's a regular 360, not an Elite.

I am so pissed! I was about 75% done with ME2, and I decided I wanted to play some of my older games from the past few years. In all I played: Fable 2, Bioshock 1, GTA IV and GTA San Andreas for about 20 mins each just for a little entertainment and to see where I'd left off. All four of the games I played required updates, and so I did updates everytime I was prompted to.

Afterward I was ready for some ME2 and that's when my problems started. The game would freeze everytime after I'd press start at the red and black "Press Start" screen. The screen would fade black and the music is supposed to  continue to play, except for me, the music would stop and everything would freeze up. My controller and xbox were entirely unresponsive. The only way to do anything was to physically press the power button.

I spent hours on forums and the xbox service site and have tried everything: I tried other games, all of which worked. I cleaned the disk. I removed the hard drive. I cleared the cache. I transfered my game saves to an external hard drive. I transfered my profile to an external hard drive. I deleted my profile and gamertag and then recovered them. I went through the older games I played earlier tonight which required updates and erased my new saves. I uninstalled and then reinstalled ME2 to my harddrive. I even gave up, created a new profile and attempted to start a new ME2 game, that of which FROZE at the yellow/orange skull screen like others here have experienced. I am FED UP !

My issue is that I played a few older games, which required updates, and now ME2 freezes at the same point everytime I try to play. Now it wont even play after creating a new profile. WTF! It seems I am deemed to never play ME2 again and I absolutely loved the first game and was definately enjoying myself with this one. I am so dissapointed, fustrated and angry. Nothing I have tried has worked.

I wish I could turn back time to a few hours ago and never played those four games which needed updates. It seems that the updates that are on my profile have corrupted something with loging in to my gamertag and saved games. And, the best part is, there is no "recover" feature with the XBOX like there is with a computer, where you can recover your computer to a certain day and time before changes were made. I don't know what to do. Help anyone? Anyone else encounter this?

I've only had 3 lockups on my 360 while playing ME2. Once was on a load screen. The other 2 tim,es were during missions but wasn't too hateful since the game autosaves mission starts.

Never had the game freeze once in 4 playthroughs (100+ hours)

Its totally essential to install the game to HDD to minimize loading lag/freezing...
