...you could chose a weapon proficiency, instead of a bonus power.
My Sentinel doesn't need more powers, but could use one more weapon type Image IPB

You mean, could choose one at the start of the game, instead of having to wait till the collector ship to choose your bonus weapon skill?

He means getting a new weapon rather than "advanced training"

But, thats what advanced training is...a new weapon proficiency, unless you already have that proficiency, in which case you get a super weapon.

Sounds like he just wants it at the start of the game, which would be cool.

I guess I was a little vague - as one more option at the Normandy research station. You could then choose, let's say; shotgun training instead of a squadmate bonuspower.

Ah, RighteousRage beat me to it Image IPB

When I played my sentinel, I found I hardly ever shot at anything anyway so was happy with the AP ammo bonus power.

I don't understand why people use the AP ammo power on a Sentinel. We simply lack the base damage for the % to make much of a difference.

Imagine if bonus talents worked like in ME1.

I like the new bonus talent system, since every bonus talent is "unique". But at the same time, it cheapens the squaddies that have them. I'd much prefer it if the bonus talent system in ME2 was mixed with the ME1 extra talent system, so you could choose talents that aren't just Squaddie Loyalty talents.

While this would somewhat cheapen other classes, it is less of an issue than cheapening squaddies, because squaddies already have such a limited selection.

Edit: I'm still pining for that Infiltrator with Incendiary Ammo.
