Ashley, hands down. She stands by her principles (ATTN: No, she didn't 'break up' with you on Horizon, she just had the choice to refuse to work with a bunch of human supremacists and did so), is one of the more interestingly human characters Bioware has written, and if you cheat on her she will likely come after you with a chainsaw for an arm to disembowl you and everything you put in her way.

Ashley. Personally I thought that Miranda's new face didn't really belong. I rather liked the concepts they had of her, until Yvonne showed up. But whatever, and OP, it is fruitless to ask 'which is better', because everyone has their own opinion and thrads like this generally end up being flamed for 10+ pages and then closed.

PS. Why can't both be LIs in ME3?  Like someone already said, whoever lived will be in there so...

Miranda had a much deeper personality and far more interesting characterization than Ashley's "Boo hoo my grandpa surrendered so I'm gonna try to get killed, let's go read poetry" crap. Ashley seemed very two dimensional and static to me, while you can actually see dynamic change in Miranda as you 'get to know her.'



Plus Miranda's backstory with her father leaves open a lot of area to explore if Bioware decides ME3 gets more 'loyalty' missions based on each character.
