I'm having trouble deciding this myself. I want to do Ashley first but Miranda is pretty hard to resist once you see her crying in the elevator.
Ashley's romance felt like it had a larger element of commitment, especially since she stayed faithful to you for over 2 years when she thought you were dead. She's pretty attractive, is passionate, and really cares about you.
Miranda is incredibly sexy. She's very smart, and she's stoic but also sensitive. She's hard towards you at first but eventually she opens up and shows her softer side. Her sex scene is also far and away the best out of all ME2 LI's.
I'm going to make a couple of characters, one with each romance, and l will try and decide which one to play first in ME3.
Miranda or Ashley for ME3 LI (POST OPINIONS HERE!)

Ashley vs Miranda = Alliance vs Cerberus
You believe in the ideals of the Alliance and due process, Ash is your girl...
You think Alliance is all red tape and you love providing vigilante justice for humanity, Miranda's your bundle of love...
How's THAT for trolling? ha!

just something to think about using alittle logic here
Miranda's so called "coldness" in the start maybe came from the fact she gave two years of her life to you and may think the moment you meet her you would treat her like every other alliance person treats every Cerbrus member, could it maybe have been a way to guard herself? *shurgs* she "warms" the moment you become fully part of the mission through you didnt have a choice after Freedom Progess.
To people that say its a fing i wonder how can you say that after the fact shes the only LI to talk about love(using the actualy word) even if its a small moment, and wants to make you promise that youll live through the mission
and how is she "busy with Jacob" as she never talks about him and the promise she keeps comes across as me as her way of closing that door and saying sorry it never had a chance
I'm sorry but after ME2 Ashley become my second favorite LI though shes another great character people prejudge and just look at as a alien hater and dont listen to ro give the shot shes worrth, at times her romance i say is the deepest
She had a bit of a right to be pissed at Shepard after two years he may have been her first real love as she given her life to being a solider and never thought she was good enough in anything she did, she opened to him and lost him thought was dead and when finds out isnt he didnt try to talk with her right away and working for a emeny to the alliance but she sent a nice email to try to make up for her reaction
Anyway I say Miranda over Ashley but Ashley is still a great number two

I have played through the game with 3 diff chars.
With my male ME1 char, I stayed true with Ash.
With my fem ME2 char, no Romance. Jack wasn't interested, and I don't want to get boned by a guy : )
With my male ME2 char, I romanced Miranda. Will probably import all 3 chars to ME3 if possible.

Oh, and Ash acted like a bit of an irrational **** on Horizon. Sorry I never wrote you, Ash, I was DEAD.
Well as reasons go, it's pretty far out.
She did apologise though. Didn't you receive her e-mail?
By that point it's very much a case of "You made your bed, Williams. Go and lie in it!"
She doesn't even try to listen, she just makes it all about how her feelings were hurt. Well boo-frikkin-hoo! You thought Shepard was dead, he was dead! He's dead for two years and comes back to find out that the whole galaxy has conspired to undo nearly everything he's done and his girlfriend accuses him of being a terrorist and she expects an email to fix it?
PS- I forgot my choice. Miranda... Unless Samara decides that she's allowed to care about someone then I intend to travel the Galaxy with a justicar love bunny.

Miranda, without a doubt.
Ashley never makes it out of ME1 for me anyway. She is the least physically attractive female in the series and her personality is even worse.

Well Said lol
Miranda: Her genetics are superior in every way, something your children will inherit. She's hotter than Ashley, has a better personality. Ashley also broke up because you died and forgot to write during your two years in a coma.

To me, settling Ashley vs Miranda is similar to Kaidan vs Garrus. I go for the one who stands by Shep when (s)he needs them. Ash and Alenko can send their sob e-mails but what Paul and Noin needed was someone who'd walk through hell w/ them. I liked Ash in ME1 but Miranda stepped up in ME2.
