Thinking about getting an hdtv but need to know some things first. If
it's not 1080p it's not worth getting? I heard there's a big difference
between 1080p and 720p but getting 1080p costs a few hundred bucks
extra. For those who have 720 hdtvs are you satisfied with it? And
those who seen the two in person is it really that big of a difference
between the two? Planning on getting 32-38 inch tv, mainly for videos
games which I spend at least 10 hours daily on. Also which place is the
best to buy them at? I know things are cheaper online but never bought
anything online because I'm kind of insecure about buying things
online. What happens when things arrive at your house? You got to sign
some stuff? And what happens if you're not at home?
Need opinions on HDTV and shopping online

Well I personally, found a great deal on a 62" hdtv, and had it shipped from one coast to the other.
Reason being I paid $1200.00 including shipping.
It is full 1080P,and when coupled with a bluray player, you can't go wrong.
OH yeah, I nearly forgot, this is not going to be ruined, by some friggen console crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on your distance and screen size. Here's a chart showing what resolutions most people can make out at various distances and screen sizes.
Most people don't get a large enough set. At (for example) 10' away you want *at least* 50", and a 50" 720p set will definitely be better than a 42" 1080p because you won't be able to make out even 720p on the 42" set from that distance anyway. Also note that current consoles won't render natively above 720p anyway, so higher res is only good for PC gaming and TV/Blu-Ray watching.
I have a 42" 1080p at 6 feet and it's an incredible PC gaming setup.
Oh yeah, as for ordering off the internet... Amazon is probably the best place to buy TVs these days. Often no tax and their delivery service is excellent.

This is the hd tv lcd that I own I always get Samsung when it comes to monitors and lcd tv's. The colors on Samsung seem to be more full and vibrant in comparison to other manufactorer's. I would say LG would be my 2nd pick, and also I have a fairly large living room with a 7.1 home theatre. That being said I found a 46 inch monitor a perfect size if you go much larger the picture won't be quite as crisp. I bought this a year and a half ago, and have never had a problem with it. I know that now you can get 240hrz processing lcd's tv's and you may want to look into those but I would still go with Samsung.
Within the next year most companies are going to be launching a line of 3D enabled lcd tv's so you may want to wait a bit before purchasing.
