I live in Australia.  I purchased DAO Collectors Edition from an Australian supplier via ebay.  The disc supplied was a region 3 from Singapore (SG).  The game plays and works fine except that downloading content must be done via the Singapore/Asia PS Network. Very possible to do but a pain in the rear. This works fine for free content like Blood Dragon Armour and Stone Prisoner.

However when you try to purchase DLC like Wardens Keep, you cannot unless you have a credit card from that region.  I communicated with Sony Support and they told me this is the case.  I stupidly (yeah I know!) purchased the Wardens Keep content using my Australian PSN login and downloaded it to the PS3.  It's on my PS3's HDD but the version of DAO that I have will not recognise it.  Sony told me on the phone that its part of their terms and conditions and a refund would not be given as there is no fault with the software.

Basically this little experience cost me $11.45 AUD.  Which isn't a great deal of cash but still frustrating.

So to all you folks thinking of downloading paid content - Make sure you have a local region disc before doing so.

If you are buying a copy of this game or any other games by EA in the future that may involve downloadable content for the PS3, ensure your disc is for the region you are located in.

An honest mistake on my part, yes.  But to have Sony rub their terms and conditions in my face was not pleasant.  I was told that I would have to purchase a version of the game for my region (Region 4).  Damm this game is getting rather expensive!  Watch out fellow customers, I have the feeling that when Awakenings is released, there are going to be loads of people who won't be able to use it due to region incompatibilities, but we shall see...
