So i've got my copy of the game trough steam a couple of days ago and keep having this problem, already posted a ticket to steam and a post on the steam forums but still no answer... If anyone here had the smae problem or know any way to help it would be great because i honestly dont know what else i can do....

So here is the problem:


After downloading the game (files have been verified for
integrity) and decrypting it, steam starts the setup to install it. At
this point the setup will consist of 3 steps, but once it gets to the
final step we get this message: http://helpdeskgeek.....allererror.png


After that the computer just greatly slows down and needs to be
manually restarted. Any attempt to launch the game after it results on
the setup "installing: msiexec.exe (step 1 of 1)" which after 5-10 mins
ends up with the same message.

The "solutions"


So i've spent pretty much my whole night and this morning trying
to make the game work, and tried pretty much everything, here is what
didn't work.



-Running steam and/or the game as administrator = work on some cases, mostly on windows XP, nothing here.

Went through all of the posts here on forum and nothing worked as well...

I've the same issue too. Its preventing me from accessing any of the game updates I've paid for. The core game works perfectly however. It seems to be more a problem with Vista + Steam than the game / game servers as my profile is updating on Bioware.



If someone could please assist this, its extremely frustrating.

Problem solved, turned out to be an ever growing list of program incompatabilities with steam.

Panda Antivirus prevented the steam updater program from running correctly.



It seems Vista was not to blame! Im as shocked as could be.
