Upon watching Emily Wong in the Galaxy News there's apparently some big time issues going on with the Batarians.

Their government is supposedly researching a way to use orbital mirrors for "terraforming cold planets."

Right.

The same race that shipped slavers to Pragia, conducted the Skyllian Blitz, attacked potentially dozens of human colonies, enslaved who knows how many people, and is a vocal opponent of the Council and humanity?

The Council is rumored to have sent a Spectre and a group trying to convince the Batarians to stop, which makes sense. If the Batarians are able to set up shop and use this tech quickly enough, they could wipe out entire colonies or outposts.

My guess is that whoever this Spectre is will need help; he or she might be captured and you'll have to fight your way to negotiating this situation or simply stopping it entirely. It would make sense that they call you, regardless of who the Council is, because they know you're alive now and that you will get the job done.

Resolution would be a peaceful negotiation (after wiping out their token defense), or butchering them and keeping the tech for your allies. This could also have an effect on ME3, with chilling out the Batarians and getting them to put aside their grudges adding another ally to the fold, or getting their leadership out of the picture.

Remember, if anyone can negotiate well with them, it's the Hero of the Blitz, the Butcher of Torfan, or a colonist who has seen them do their dirty work up close and personal, who also happens to be the most famous hero in the galaxy.

I was wondering if Emily was setting up DLC. She also talks about a murder on the wards that was a hate crime by a human. The problem is those stories have resolutions if you come back after the suicide mission - the Batarians stop building the mirrors and C-Sec arrests a suspect.
