Are you guys kidding me? Sandal terrifies me! First words out of my mouth when I went inside the room was "HOLY ****!" And then seeing Sandal standing there, all innocent, my thoughts were "You know what, not going to ask. Just going to buy some stuff and walk away. Because I'd rather fight the Archdemon then stay inside the same room as Sandal."

LOL! I was the exact same way my first playthrough. Second time I actually asked, and almost spit water over my screen with his answer.

The Maker is Sandal's B***h.
If there was a Sandal 'Cult' i would possibly join or at least tolerate it's existance lol. Heck it might even be the ONLY 'religion' that i would even acknowledge as such.

p.s. sorry if my spelling sucks [even though English is my first and only language]

Dont put too much thought into the why and how of Sandal.

Sandal ... useless perk.

*enchantment* was funny ... for the first time. Gets boring quickly.

Not sure if many people have read Steven Erickson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series and specifically the book Midnight Tides, which has a character in it named Bugg. Bugg turns out to be an elder god and though his character shows the reader much more intelligence then Sandal, there are a lot of comparisons. I honestly never saw the elder god thing in Bugg till very near the end of the book and I was never sure of it until the very last page in the book where Erickson reveals the fact that Bugg is a god,

Bugg is the man servant of another very humorous character in the book Tehol Beddict, who is a genius and he spends his considerable intelligence in bring down the economy of his own country. Why Bugg follows the human genius Tehol is never really made clear but you get the feeling Bugg loves Tehol like family for some reason.

Anyway when ever I see Sandal I think of Bugg....

Now that i think of it.

Sandal reminds me of Gumby, from Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Its a great character, and a pain that hasnt more memorable sentence than "enchament."

About the massacre of darkspawn, its a clear theme, darkspawn tried to stole lirium to sandal, and well....

Perhaps, looking his face,  he wasnt smiling, perhaps he is a psychotic with  90 a strenght due to somekind of adition :bandit:

If there were some type of Sandal 'Cult' the the following would be the first and maybe only comandment:

"When asked how you totally Powned your foes [or some such similar thing] thy only responce MUST be...... ENCHANTMENT!"

How the hell did he take down that entire group of darkspawn and an Ogre? Isn't he mentally handicapped? Seriously. He's just standing at the door, all bloody and all, surrounded by DEAD darkspawn...

It's because Sandal is really Keyser Söze

It´s quite easy. He is a savant. His one great power is his enchantment. The other is to use magic though he is a dwarf. When the darkspawn were there, they were probably not very nice, so he just killed them without actually recognizing it. Only thing I wonder is why HE was there at all.

maybe its bad merchant placement? maybe BW placed him there because you get to pick alot of stuff from Denerim gates upto the top of Fort Drakon, and they also assumed that lots of people will just play through until the end without thinking of preparing for the final battle.

but for gods sakes Bioware, I hope you have other good reasons why Sandal is there, not just for the players convenience. Sandal is one of the favorite NPCs after all.

Chuck Norris is a pathetic little Mon'keigh.

In order of power:
WNW) BioWare Staff
OMFG) ME [muhahahaaaa]
1) Sandal / Ser Cauthrien
2) The Maker
1,000,000) Chuck Norris

NOTE: WNW = We're not worthy
