. I recently bought ME2 and installed it. The first problem i encountered was me not installing directx 10. I recentrly just bought a new PC too.  so I installed Directx10 only for it not to work and keep repeating the same error. So i uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game.
I have downloaded the patch and done everything I can. When I reinstalled ME2 and downloaded patches, installed etc... I got another error after I try to startup ME2. As soon as i try to launch Windows 7 says ME2 has stopped working and doesnt telll me what the problem is. has anyone else got any insight on this problem, or have had the same problem. Ive updated all my drivers and I'm not running below the system Min. Dont know if its my graphics card  or not.

and of course i put this in the ME1 forum instead of ME2. go fig

"Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported GPU Chips: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 7200, 7300, 7400, 7500, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 9200, and 9300; ATI Radeon HD 2400, 3100, 3200, HD 3450, HD 3470, HD 4200, and HD 4350 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel  and S3 video devices are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2."

1.  Why leave this in the wrong place?  You really should've edited off the majority of the post when you realized that.  .

2.  DirectX 10 doesn't contain the entire Dx9, so both are required.  The game automatically adds Dx9 as part of its normal install.

3.  In the correct forum, Chris described what your problem report procedure should be (third from the top).

CPU and RAM are good enough but your onboard videochip is equivalent to a rock compared to a machinegun. Your videochip is not supported by Mass Effect 2 (or any other games that demands 3D rendering power), even if the game would run, it would crawl.

1.  A desktop with only Intel's onboard video chip is a cripple, although it has an upgrade route available.  There will be an empty video bus add-on slot to use.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/509580

2.  A laptop computer is not supported for official technical support.

3.  Laptops with only an onboard video chip do not have any video upgrade route.  They are dead end products.

4.  ATI and nVIDIA also produce onboard video solutions, that are not as totally worthless as Intel's, but they are still very slow and quite undesireable as gaming platform hardware.
