I have two female Shepards: my main character, whom I consider my 'Canon' Shepard, and a side character for roleplaying purposes.

Main character's name is Vielle, although she occasionally (here read: very rarely) goes by 'Vi'.

(Colonist/Sole Survivor, if you were wondering. Mostly Renegade.)

Secondary character's name is Elena. She.... actually doesn't have any nicknames, now I do think on it, although with a name like that there's probably more opportunity for them.

(In this case, she is an Earthborn/War Hero. Mostly Paragon.)

My main FemShep is named Valentina Shepard, after Valentina Tereshkova. I figured since Shepard was named for the first American in space (and second man), it would be fitting for the female version to be named for the first woman in space.

The one I'm bringing into ME2 is Valerie. She was a Paragon Colonist War Hero Vanguard, and I was thinking of a name akin to a female warrior or valkryie. Picked "Valerie" off the top of my head.

I only just went to check the meaning of "Valerie" and it seems I didn't make a bad choice: I get returns along the lines of 'brave', 'valient' and 'fierce one'.

I used to imagine her trying to escape from the slavers on Mindor. Father died buying time for the escape, Mother took a fatal wound while shielding her from gunfire, and as she expired in her daughter's arms her last word were "Be brave, baby. Promise me ... you'll be brave".

Wow. I'm surprised I haven't seen the names I've used come up yet. While they aren't common names, I didn't think they were that uncommon.
