Wynne (Heh, my least creative name), Ryla, Rosella (named after the King's Quest character in a fit of nostalgia), and Teleura ("teleurstellen" in Dutch means to disappoint--she was a real jerk Renegade type). I've also used the name "Cheyenne" which is my great-grandmother's Native American tribe.

I hate normal names. It takes even less creativity to call your Shepard Jane than it does to lift your own name. Not that I'm hating. It's not like there's some kind of rule that says you have to have a creative name for your Shepard; you might not care about the name at all. I just hate having five friends named Jennifer (not that it's their fault or even their parents' fault; I think a lot of people were surprised at how the name "Jennifer" exploded with popularity.) I wish people would take a little more care in choosing names for their kids. Their Shepard, not so important... hell, you could call your Shepard "Generic Shepard" and nobody's going to give a crap if you don't... but I personally like giving a character name that means something, however obscure the meaning might be.

Anyway, I like how most of the Shepards in this thread have something more interesting than the default.

Lara...but that is a name I have always used for my female characters, which all tend to be the same lady I played in the original Baldur's Gate way back in the day.



Until Dragon Age when I changed it to Lana, since Lara is more of a Slavic sort of name and didn't really fit the setting.
