ME2 being released is nice, but how about fixing the old bugs in ME1 first? The 3 bugs that bug me the most are:
1) During the Liara rescue mission, in the area where the elevator gets broken, if you save the game and then restore it, you always receive a level-dependent amount of XP for nothing, it's added every time you load a savegame, can only be fixed through the console
2) On Noveria, in the Lorik offices, there's something wrong with the textures on the second floor (first floor in BE). Shepard and my companions constantly wind up in the air, right above the floor and it's impossible to get down back to the floor. They are running through air like Jesus over water, lol. There are enemies all over the place and this bug is very annoying. It seems it's triggered by casting singularity in the area, but I'm not sure
3) The Rita bug - if you pass the speech check with Chellik to release Rita's sister and then talk to Rita, the quest is set to completed and you cannot complete the weapon shipment quest, because Chellik won't talk to you. Unfortunately, ME is not shipped with an editor, so there's no way I can fix this myself. In games like NWN2 or Fallout 3 it's easy, I fixed tons of bugs in those games myself, but here I must beg the developers to fix bugs that are several years old.

Well, the walking in the air bug seems contageous. I've never encountered the one you're speaking of in ME1, but there are a whole bunch of locations in ME2 where I have to reload to an earlier point or even restart a mission, because I'm stuck somewhere in mid-air. The worst missions are the Estevanico side quest, with an astonishing three different locations with this effect and Jacob's loyalty-quest with two. As great as these games are, bug-fixing doesn't seem to be a priority ;o)

I know how you feel ME2 Garrus and Miranda like floating a lot especially against that air ship on the quest to recruit Samara.

Indeed, it's worst when it happens mid-battle, definetely. The game doesn't save as often as I'd like and I'm just too lazy to press F5 every couple of seconds^^ So you end up literaly in the middle of nowhere, your cloak just ran out and a pack of krogans or whatnots are standing right beneath you firing shotgun-rounds at your bollocks and THEN you end up having to run half the level again.
