Liara DLC? wishful thinking or fact?
There are various Liara (audio) files in the PC install directory to suggest that a DLC is coming up. Wouldn't be the least surprised.

I've never really understood that logic of announcing stuff like that at a developer conference.
"Dear people who aren't going to buy this. Come take a look at the thing none of our customers can get into this conference to see."

The Lack of comment from BW is Frustrating, but They do have jobs and can't surf the threads all day. BW could put a stop to all this nonsense with a single post or tweet. I certainly hope They make an announcement soon either way!
I agree

If we take the companies of Bungie (Halo 3) and Bethesda (Fallout 3) as the golden standard in both community interaction and sheer amount of DLC released Bioware is still a far way off from approaching even the minimum amount of time to release a big package. Observe...
With Halo 3, new multiplayer maps took MONTHS to develop before they were even announced, much less released. And in between those releases there was even more long stretches of time. I think on average Bungie has released a new map pack every 6 months since Halo 3 launched. And multiplayer maps take a lot less development time than single-player content.
As for Fallout 3... that released in late October 2008. We didn't see the first press release about the first DLC pack until a full THREE MONTHS later, and even then it took an additional two or three weeks to pass between the announcement and the release of the DLC. After that there was on average a 1-2 month pause between the five consecutive DLC packs released for that game.
In summary, I think we're giving Bioware/EA too much credit by constantly spamming the boards with wishful thinking, hollow demands, and "I want it now!" Speaking objectively, Bioware is nowhere near the level of Bungie or Bethesda in PR/development. And even if they were, we shouldn't expect any news about a "major" release for at least another month.

Undoubtedly there will be another of these threads tomorrow... I wish people would title these threads "Are we getting DLC today?" so that I'd know to avoid it off the bat.

Those DLCs were pretty damned large though. Broken Steel and Point Lookout were practically expansions.

Maybe... But a couple means two or a few. And if we cross a month then we aren't talking about a couple of weeks, but a couple of months instead.diskoh wrote...
It did not say 2 weeks. It said a couple weeks. Don't be so literal or you'll be disappointed every time.
The real problem is the apathic attitude of BioWare concerning providing us with information about a product that we have paid for in the first place. It's not that we are getting something for free. It's not a bone thrown to us, although BioWare certainly wants to convince us that it is.

Nah, they'd have way more fun spiting you and watching you squirm.

I think if they would have had the Hammerhead out already and had time consumming things like with the Mako people wouldnt be complaining that much about the DLC not coming out.

The thing about the Bungie and Bethesda DLC is that Halo 3 has multiplayer so people wont get bored as often and 6 months is fine for DLC. And Fallout 3 is a game hat takes a LONG time to beat (I played it for like a full week and didn't get close to the end not to mention their DLC out at the time) I beat Mass Effect 2 in like 3 or 4 days I think.
That would be because you were so bored while playing FO3, you couldn't stand playing for more than a couple of hours.
ME2, on the other hand, sucked you in and you ended up playing 8 hours a day.
Seriously though, I spent maybe 30 hours playing FO3 over the course of a month. I spent 45 hours playing ME2 (one playthrough) over the course of 2.5 weeks.

No doubt about it. They have done so with the ME1 patch, Pinnacle Station, the DA:O patch and Return to Ostagar. And they will keep on doing it until we all tell them that we have enough of their attitude.ImperialOperative wrote...

At the risk of being flamed for arguing semantics, there is no mention of the Hammerhead or Kasumi or the Archdemon from hell for that matter on the game box, manual or extras (at least on non CE versions). Yes, they did say that those things would be released roughly at that time, but there are more complicated factors involved in the release of DLC.
They are under no obligation whatsoever to provide you with information about extra content, because you can twist it anyway you want to, but the truth of the matter is, those things are indeed considered to be extra content, just as Shale is considered extra content for DAO (despite the fact that the character used to be part of the normal game at one point but was "cut" due to time constraints and whatnot), since they were never delivered with the game itself.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not defending Bioware's PR here in any way, shape or form, I'm simply stating the obvious, considering previous (unfortunately not that good) experience. It would be nice if they said something, but personally I'm not holding my breath. Expect less and who knows, you may (or may not) receive more.
