I've seen a clip floating around of "Charge." But I haven't actually seen it in game. Anyone care to mention the conversation?

My personal favorite voice moment has to be when you use the renegade option at the end of Samara's loyalty, "I'm not the victim you were looking for."

The best moment overall though has no dialogue, but just the look on FemShep's face when she asks EDI how expendable the crew is. The little smile says it all.

Where's this part where you ask EDI how expendable the crew is?

I didn't like the voice acting for male shepard. He has little to no emotion in his dialogue. Jennifer Hale however does a very good job of conveying emotion with her dialogue.

He does a better badass or jerk renegade than Jennifer Hale though.

But I found his dialogue at the end of Horizon about leaving the colony to be good.  That was done quite well and it conveys that his/her trusted friend or LI doesn't trust him and said some quite hurtful things.

He is also good at giving speeches too.

You get it through renegade options if you don't use the paragon interrupt when talking to the "biotic god" volus on Samara's recruit mission.

Basically, the volus is high on way too much red sand and says something to the effect of "I will crush this weakling merc leader with my godlike biotics", and Shepard heartlessly eggs him on. I don't know the convo from memory.

Yeah both options are quite funny with the biotic god.  I usually save him though as I hope he'l make a return in ME3 ranting about his godlike biotics again. Image IPB

I think my favorite Shepard moment was when he runs into that maintenance guy on The Citadel, and you can either punch him out, or charm/intimidate him. I always pick intimidate.

I always thought the bomb line was hilarious. Though I think  the male shepard sounded better than the female one,

FemShep: "It's what I do." [to the sick batarian asking why she helped him].

In general I thought Hale was better at seeming caring/pissed off when the situation called for it, but that could be because to me, MaleShep sounds like every other generic action hero type I've seen in games over the past six years. It's just not as interesting, but that's personal opinion.

*edit* Agree with most of Baris' points ^_^

Both VA have their moments. I find Hale to be much better at conversations that need a little caring (like with your squadmates), not so much with humour though. One example I prefer Hale's delivery when the situation calls for humour is when Shep gets drunk on Citadel "Hit me again... do it!" She shines in a "I mean business and you're a fool if you think I'll get sidetracked" way. You really wouldn't want to cross paths with her.

I listen to the FemShep and MaleShep delivering the same sometimes humorous/usually renegade lines and I get the feeling that while M!Shep is a nonchalant badass (who makes you laugh), F!Shep is a serious one even when joking.

Meer shines when it comes to humour in my opinion. "Run, it's going to blow up!" and that "Chaarge" still makes me laugh.

in ME1: "The Council can kiss my a**!"

in ME2: the romancing dialogues with Tali. Both Mark Meer and Liz Srocka did an excellent job in this game.

For Jennifer Hale :

"Shepard? I thought you were dead!"

"I got better"

For Mark Meer:

Tali Renegade trial interrupt.

To me, male Shep is the worst voice actor in the lead role of any major video game I've ever played.

Seriously? What, do you play nothing but western RPGs or something?

Go play FFX or any Resident Evil game and your appreciation for Male Shep's voice will go way up.

I think Mr Meer did a much better job in this game than in the first. I think he actually does a better job than Ms Hale in some speeches and many renegade lines (whereas Hale sounds better in... pretty much any line that requires emotion and compassion). Most of his best lines can be found in the Commander Shepard is Still a Jerk video. Best line IMO is the 'get out now before it blows!' bit. Also "I won't be questioned on my own ship by my own ship."

Can't really pick out lines for FemShep. They're all pretty good...

Ah, tbh I think Liz Sroka did the best job though with her flustered chatterbox performance. "Wow, it's really hot in here."

"Maybe Not, Felt Good though" of Male shep during the mission on Garbage planet when you bring mording along when he says: "Adding insult to injury, Litteraly. Necessary?" 6:44 (my all-time favourite)

And the "You still don't get it do you, you're not in charge of this mission, I am." At 1:03

Also: "Give me a name or I'll cut your balls off and sell 'em to a Krogan!" at 3:26

Special mention to : "When I take Tali aboard Council's station, the custom guys sometimes call her "that thing"" 4:49

All of them are on this video:

For some reason, I really like the way male Shep says "Hurt me? I hardly felt a thing" during the Dantius Towers mission.

One of Male Shepard lines. After Kelly was abducted.

"How are you doing Kelly?" That line was very badly delivered.

Male shepard:

"Because its a BIG STUPID JELLYFISH" - delivery was spot on. Either then that, it seems natural, but sometimes lacking emotion and delivery.

Female shepard:

Any line requiring emotion was delivered well. Best I've heard was standing up for Tali at the trail -> brilliant delivery. Some lines requiring more natural deliveries however.

Definitely MaleShep's "I've had enough of this colony" especially if Ash was your romancable.

I also think his post trial dialogue with Tali if you saved her from exile was amazing as well.

I'm not going to argue that there isn't a lot of bad voice acting out there but Meer is in a class by himself for me.  It's not that his voice acting is just bad (which I think it is) I could handle that - it's that it's weird sounding.  The only way I can describe how it sounds to me is that every word of Meer's performance sounds as though it was recorded individually and then all his dialogue was spliced together from the individual disconnected words.  It drives me crazy - I wish it didn't, honestly, I want to enjoy playing a male Shep but I can't get past Meer.

Honestly I think male shep hits the "marine" mentality pretty well. You don't go around crying and hugging your rifle expecting the baddies to go away. Femshep lines definitely hit better in the "caring" department and some renegade options are pretty cold. I like both performances. I think my favorite Shepard is the interrupt with the Quarrian, Colus, and C-Sec. Still my overall favorite scene...Mordin telling about Kirrahe and his "Hold the line!".
