Hi there folks,

seeing all this annoying "LI [insert character of fantasy]" or "I hate Tali" threads popping out in the Mass Effect 2 forums, I'd like Bioware to embed a "report topic" mechanism to sort out spam topics by informing a mod as simply reporting the OP has little chance of success, besides the numerous other users in here you gladly join those pestilences. It really annoys just refreshing the page and seeing at least one new spam thread appearing. One totally can't keep track of interesting topics other than those that you already posted in, which unfortunately vanish in the dephts of the forums unseen and therefore uncommented in a matter of minutes.

I will post a copy of this topic in the Mass Effect 2 General Discussion forum to maybe catch the opinions of few fellow users up there, but this is the primary ground for discussion.

I'd love to see some comment from Bioware officials upon this matter.

Thank you

A better solution would be for BioWare mods, at some point, to great a Spoiler-Allowed sub-forum for each game where the most appropriate topics like "Tali Lovers" or something are placed. It keeps the general forums clear of these topics, makes them easier to find and it'd make moderation much more efficient.

That would already have been used in the offtopic forum here if people were to obey such methods.

I would like to see this function, so that users can quickly and efficiently report topics/posts that are spam, flame-bait, trolling, or just totally inappropriate for the forum in question.

Are you referring to something other than the current button that sends an eMail to EA, which then has to be delayed while it is resent back to Bioware?

There definitely *IS* already a "Report this post" button.

However, choosing an actively participating moderator to send a PM to is the preferred handling. The real fact is that ever since the release of ME2, Bioware chose to curtail the majority of its moderation efforts. Longtime ("Legacy") members have already been complaining about the excessive numbers of witless fools creating chaos all across the forums, and have been ignored for the most part.

There already is a 'Report this topic' button. It's found on the very 1st Post of a Thread as substitute for the typical 'Report this post' button.

I too want stronger Troll & Spammer counter-measures.
