So I'm playing as a Renegade and I'm trying to get my squad killed except for me and 2 others, and I thought I read somewhere that it was possible to kill Zaeed on his loyalty mission, but I can't seem to find it again.

Anyway I tried both the renegade and paragon option on his mission, but neither seems to allow me to kill him.
If it's not possible, is there a way to get him killed at the final mission even though he's loyal?

yes. have him in your party and choose a really lame biotic. he will get taken by the seeker swarm (50% chance), loyal or not.

You can only kill him on his loyalty mission if you have already won the game.

I choose to save the workers and there was an option at the end to leave him there, which I happily did lol.

That's odd, I've tried saving them but no matter what option I picked at the end he came back with me.

Is this true?

Not necessarily true.

I've only been able to kill him after he survived the suicide mission, but that's more likely because the game requires you to have a certain number of squadmates before entering the final mission. You could try recruiting everyone and then killing off Zaeed.

By the way, the method of doing it: Use all Renegade options EXCEPT for saving the refinery workers (which is the Paragon option). You'll leave Zaeed in the fire he started.

A stubborn enough person can survive just about anything. If you leave him there, then he'll return in ME3 and do something really ugly to you.

On an added note: If you only have 2 squadmates survive the final mission and non-loyal Zaeed is one of them, there will be no option to kill him (for obvious reasons).

Zaeed died when I didn't get his loyalty because I refused to let the workers die in his personal mission. I sent him to escort the crew back to the Normandy and he didn't make it.

Of course, he's going to look a little more like a certain character in another game I used to play...

Weird, I refused to let the workers die and yet somehow I still got his loyalty at the end...maybe I made a Paragon persuade check or something, can't remember.

Just to clarify...to kill Zaeed, I chose to save the workers when provided that choice....but otherwise all mission long I choose the Renegade choices?  (And yes, I've already done the suicide mission)

Yes, Gaidren, that is exactly what went wrong. I made the mistake of doing his mission before I had gotten enough paragon points and didn't get the conversation option.

I was pure Renegade and was able to kill Zaeed using the save the refinery workers option. All other dialogue choices were Renegade.

can anyone confirm on the conditions to get the "I am leaving you here" option to kill Zaeed?  I tried various options and have been unable to murder him.

Meh, sub-standard like his entire character. As last words go, I have heard better. ;)

Poor Zaeed. If you don't want him just don't recruit him in the first place.

Did you do the following..

a: Do the loyalty mission AFTER the suicide mission?

b: Did you have at least 2 other party members besides Zaeed... ie. one that came with you and one left out of the battle.

If the above 2 factors were answered yes, then other than doing the paragon choice for saving the refinery workers when you get to the end and he gets trapped, if you select the 'renegade' (bottom right) responses you should get to the "I am leaving you here" option.

If he's unloyal:

Have him be the escort for the crew.

Take him with you to fight the human reaper.

Not sure, but he also might die if you use him as diversion leader, loyal or not.

Zaeed doesn't really die. If you try to get him killed, suicide mission or not, he will come back for some revenge in ME3. Burn you alive.

He's too awesome to die.

Zaeed Trailer
When Zaeed yells out "Shepard!" in that trailer, that line is actually used as his dying words as he is about to explode.

Is it possible to take one loyal person and one who isn't to fight the terminator and only one of your squadmates survives the fall, but the other one dies? Like if i brought Miranda, had her loyal, and Zaeed, not loyal. We fall. will he be dead, and she alive?
