Me too. I finished DA:O at 123 hours. And I don't get how anyone could've played it first time in under 70 like some claim. At least not on the PC. *shrugs* It sounds like the standard hours estimate for an expansion, which I have always come in at least 50% higher than.

Because some people are not autistic and have normal reading and playing speed. In 120 hours, I can easily beat DA three times, solo on nightmare.

And I could beat the game in Koine Greek, Biblical Hebrew, German, and French as well as English if I desired. And as far as my reading speed goes, I was reading college level works in the 3rd grade before you were born. Now, did you *really* want to got there?

Apparently he learned to read but not write.  Different classes must be.  "Got there".  Shouldn't that be "God Milk?"  Image IPB

Ahhh so logical deduction from what you said there is.."anyone" who cannot beat DA:O  3 times on nightmare in 120 hours..is likely autistic?

Really... I was tops in my speed reading class, I also averaged A and B+ grades in English and literature,  was told by my teacher that I had college level abilities in that area.

So...I am really autistic?

Thanks Doc..hope that diagnosis was free...:D

Not to mention I believe the poster means dyslexic, not autistic.

This does kind of suck considering I consider DA:O about a 25-30 hour game.

Yes, because I could not go through your posts and find a typo.... I guess we got the answer on whether or not you think avoiding the judgment of people on the other side of a monitor is too difficult for you.

And yes, I can mistype in all those languages too. And have, once or twice. Though I maintained a B+ average for my Masters Degree and graduated madna ****** laude from college.

Anymore snide remarks? Or do you like making yourself look heroic by assuming things about other people that are untrue? Do you use Allinsky's Rules for Radicals in all your commentary, or just for games?

It's called "Allinksy's Rule #5." When you can't win an argument through logic, use ridicule.

Of course, I was always taught you have to be smaller than what you hide behind. When you attack someone's character, integrity, or intelligence, you are conceding that you do not have a logical argument for why your position is superior. Thus you are less noble, honest, and intelligent in the instance than the person you attack.

Typical WOW player response.  lol

I swear you guys are your own little internet  Racial group.

By the way, soloing DA:O is actually FASTER than doing  it with a party.  A lot faster, in fact.     There's no banter or  companion conversation,  there's no companion personal quests.  There's no pausing the game to give attack orders to   4 different  characters.  There's no  time spent leveling everyone up and choosing their skills, and buying equipment for them.    You're literally  skipping   40% of the  game's content by soloing.    So of course you can solo the game 3 times in 120 hours.     So can I... if it wasn't for the fact that  such a  pointless playstyle would bore me to tears.

Just because you take a party with you does not mean you must complete the character quests, listen to banter or give them tactics to beat the story. Just set them to attack nearest visible enemy and have them tag along, completly ignorant to their existance

I'll add my vote to the "$40 is about $10 too much for a +/- 15 hour expansion" argument.

However, with that said, I'll still probably buy it. But a lot is riding on my level of enjoyment and the polish of the game. If it's the best expansion I've ever played, I'll consider buying another. But if it's merely average, I'll probably forgo anything but a full fledged sequel, or a significant reduction in price.

I see many of you have purchased Mass Effect 2 so I assume you also finished the game. How did you feel paying 60 bucks for a game with an average of 20 hours playtime and no MP?

And no, Mass Effect 2 didn't take longer than 20 hours unless you didn't understand the combat system or whatever.

Dragon Age was only as long as it was arguably due to the dialog. 15-20 hours is fine.

But if you want it to become cheaper don't complain and instead don't buy it until it becomes cheaper. The willingness of the Mass to pay for it decides the price in the free market.

How much longer do we have to listen to you talk about your education Ranger? People no more care about that, than they do that I can beat DA:O in under 30. In fact, I'd wager they care less about your education, than my DA:O skills considering this message board is ABOUT DA:O. And you've complained about my so called bragging about how fast I do DA:O, I haven't heard someone so proud of their education in quite some time. We get it. You spent $400,000 on your education. Wow. That was a great decision. Have fun with that.

No, I didn't complain about how fast you played at all. My exact words were (several times in this thread) "Different people play games--especially role playing games--differently." To expect a one-sized fits all response on time is folly. How many times have I said that on this thread? How many times have you IGNORED that?

I did not bring up my education to pat myself on the back. I mentioned it because you and another person insisted on painting yourselves as smarter as well as better at the game than those who took longer than you. Neither of which are necessary truths. And one of which has been demonstrated to be patently false by your inability to construct a coherent response to it. So yes, I pointed to my education to demonstrate the folly of your argument. You then resorted to further name-calling to continue the argument. And now you play the victim card again after launching personal attacks on me. Sorry, painting yourself the victim after throwing mud is something akin to breaking into a house and trying to assault the owner's family and then complaining that you got shot by the homeowner.

So, it seems to me that the only thing you are interested in doing is trolling and throwing flamebait at me in the hope that I might say something ill-considered enough to get myself banned, since you have long since departed from any kind of justification for your actions, your positions, or any logical means of conducting an argument. I have no desire to lose my privlege to post here from your inability to formulate a believable and coherent argument. So until you can act like something resembling a person old enough to actually play DA, I'm done.

I agree with what you're saying, but I played through ME2 twice and my 1st play through was 35 hours (Casual), and my 2nd was 37 (Insanity). 20 hours is not doing any side missions, and barely talking to people. Probably excluding a couple of loyalty missions too.

And once again, as I've pointed out a dozen times on this board.  I asked questions to determine what people did differently than I in order to ascertain the differences in either play style or other equally relevant possibilities as to how someone could take 100 hours to complete this game.  When I came up with possibilities, they were shot down and I was treated like a retard for contemplating that leaving the game on pause, game styles, reading the codex, or learning curves contributed to people taking so long.  It then became a witch hunt from a few here against me when I made a mocking, JOKE about my "supreme gaming skills".  Obviously some people here cannot fathom or cope with someone asking simple questions about their play tactics.  And it's obviously a crime here to assume any of the listed possibilities attributed to how people took so long.  The only logical possibility must have been that I cheated, or skipped massive portions of the game as some have concluded.  Even though several people have also stated they've done as fast, or faster.  Then the demands that I "prove" my game speeds started coming around and around, followed by doctor jack ass here spouting off endlessly about the 18 languages he can speak and how he was reading at a college level degree at 3 years old.  Never did I once say that people could NOT take so long to play this game, nor did I state that I did not believe in people playing things differently and at a different pace.  If I didn't believe it were possibly, why would I ever ask what people were doing?  Whether people used traps, and poisons and flasks.

Finally read that PC Gamer article today. Guess it really is 12-15 hours since it was one of the Devs saying that, not the reviewer. Ouch. Thats tiny for the price.

I AM autistic, and that was extremely offensive. Take into mind that I don't get offended easily. Just by stupid ****.

Does anyone mind reposting the link that confirms the estimated playtime of DA:A? I skimmed this thread and couldn't find it, nor could I find it when I did a quick Google search.

Sorry if it is already posted on here a million times. Thanks in advance. :P
