Does anyone mind reposting the link that confirms the estimated playtime of DA:A? I skimmed this thread and couldn't find it, nor could I find it when I did a quick Google search.

Sorry if it is already posted on here a million times. Thanks in advance. :P

No link. Its from the April Issue of PC Gamer. I'll type the quote out for you though. Its from Fernando Melo, the producer.

How Long will Awakening last?
"There is a huge amount of replayability, but for most single playthroughs I would anticipate around 12-15 hours. Side quest-happy completionists will easily exceed 20."

Thanks for the quote, Jack. It's about time somebody posted it!

Anticipate and Producer are key terms here.

True, but even there he says he anticipates people will exceed 20hrs. Game time is going to be a YMMV stat. We'll hear people saying they finished it in 8hrs. We'll hear others saying they took 30. In the end, we can do a mean average and it'll come in somewhere around the stated number. *shrugs*

I'm not saying people should not make a "value" decision on when to buy the game. But the hours stated in the statement are comparable in length to most recent expansion packs for RPGs. Yes, they were $10 cheaper. That's EA's decision. And I've said my piece on *that* in this thread too. In the end, the only person who can decide if that's value for the money is the buyer.

No one had said anything about the length of the game. It is going to be at least the length of the original game Image IPB

The new armor and sword might be worth that extra $10 that I think we're getting charged here for this. Idk, I'm on the fence. In one breath I don't think it's worth the money, but then when I exhale, I sooooo want to keep playing in the DA universe lol.

Pricing does not work in comparison with time-spent. It's just silly.

Let's compare it with the other entertainment called movies.

20 bucks for 1 and a half hour movie? Awesome. Awakening seems cheaper already.

Comparing pricing of movies, to that of video games for their entertainment value is about as fair as using the analogy of you can't resell food after you've eaten from it to reselling of video games. The only good comparison you can make is to compare a game of the same genre with another. In this case you would compare DA:O to DA:OA. If the price seems fair that you're paying 20/less for possibly 50 hours less, then it's the game for you. If not, then it's not. Simple.
