I assume you killed the mages, then? Because you had a chance to pick Wynne up at the mages tower. Wynne is pretty much pure healer.
If healing is your problem, then buy or make lots of health poultices. Morrigan can do that for you before the fight.
As for tactics, the dragon shoots fire, so equipping your party with fire resistant gear is one solution, There is a salve that Morrigan can make that will give heat resistance.
One popular tactic is to have the toughest member of the party melee attack the dragon while everyone else stays at range. The melee fighter does not have to do much damage, just keep the dragon's attention on him/her/it. It's slow but it works.

Maybe make sure the difficulty settings is at the lowest setting...
and waiting until you are stronger is a good idea too, I only know from experience that her level remains roughly the same as yours "increases" Unlike the other mobs and dungeons that can somewhat scale to your level... So patience may literally be a valuable virtue.

No... keep Morrigan out, Use Wynne who you should have gotten while completing the mage tower.
Or use potions that Morrigan can make.
Or use potions that Morrigan can make.

Don't and say you did.
I didn't kill Flemeth, but I told Morrigan I had, and it worked out just the same (as far as I can tell).

Lying is a valuable skill in this game.

No, Morrigan just assumes because Flemeth is so greedy with her secrets there was NO way you could have gotten that book without prying it from Flemeth's cold dead hand (Claw). She just accepts it and assumes you killed her mom. Course she even admits she doesn't expect Flemeth to STAY dead either, she is just hoping the Grimoire will give her a fighting edge when Flemeth comes for her.

A tank who can't be grabbed and any 3 others plinking away with ranged attacks is an easy way to beat Flemeth. Shale rocks vs dragons - pun intended.

The same way you kill anything else.
Put the sharp end of your sword into it's soft flesh. Repeat as necessary.
Also, the shooting flames thing isn't an issue with dragons, nor is fire resist gear. Fire breath won't hit your melee, and your ranged should be standing outside of it's range, unless they're particularly stupid and run closer for no good reason. Occasionally they'll use the much weaker fire strike or whatever ability, but that is, as I said, much weaker.
Just have Alistair or Shale in stoneheart tank it, have Wynne heal when necessary, and have your other DPS do whatever they do best. If you're using a DW rogue or melee warrior, have them stand behind the dragon and stab it. If you have an archer have them stand by Wynne and snipe it. If you're using a mage have them stand by Wynne and lay down the magical hurt.

Well what I did was have Wynne on healing, leliana on ranged with ice arrows, Me with Iced weapons, and morrigan shooting cold spells like cone of cold and winters grasp that take down chunks of her health pretty quick.

Cold spells are effective.

Sure you're talking about the right fight Ken? I thought Flemeth wouldn't spawn if Morrigan was in the party... I haven't tried it myself, but I have seen confirmation elsewhere on these boards.

Lie lie and lie. Or come back later when you are at a higher level.

Take a sharp object and pierce Flemeth's skin.

Flemeth won't appear if Morrigan is in the party. Use one melee char to distract the dragon while everyone else plinks away from range. She'll go down eventually.

Alistair as the tanker/damage reciever
My Character as the melee damager
