Bioware CREATED the expectation! Are we not AT LEAST owed comment by the end of the day?!

And why exactly would you complain about needing to buy a game to get the DLC? It's like saying you need to buy a car to get chrome-plated spinner wheels. You obviously don't get the extras unless you buy the game the extras are meant for.

Not really. The DLC is extra content. It's not needed for the vanilla game to function. And of course you have to buy the game to use it... otherwise it's more like saying "I bought wheels for a car I don't even have."

So, to stay with your car logic - you got your fully functional car. What's there to complain, you get even free extras for it, soon.

It's not fully functional if I know there is more that could be there and is supposed to be there (at some point) but isn't there now. Continuing with car analogy... every car type has some of the same features and a few features that are different. If car company chooses to advertise a new car model with promise of future add-on features, and I choose to buy that type of car, then I will also hold the company accountable for delivering on their promise. Again, I'm not going off about getting the DLC, I'm simply pushing to get BW to provide us with actual info on approximately when we might expect it. They put themselves in this situation and I'm not going to give them a free out.
Are you referring to the fact that the Hammerhead was actually originally quoted as being part of the game itself originally and has since been relegated to DLC?
I was kind of disappointed in that myself, I must admit. Moreso when I found out that it meant that the Hammerhead wasn't as crucial or necessary to the main game as I originally hoped (the Mako was at its best in the main mission worlds after all). And it does always feel a bit cheap when something that was supposed to be part of the original game gets held back as DLC instead.
That said, we don't even know how much it'll cost and if it had been in the vanilla game, we'd probably still be waiting to play it. When it's a non-essential component, I think most people would rather have ME2 in a playable state now and wait for some bells and whistles rather than wait longer for the complete package. In fact, in some ways ME2 still felt a little unfinished/unpolished, so... yeah.

Not to sound snide, but last time I looked we’re not debating the quality of your content, or the price., and I believe that it’s a step forward, for companies to one up GameStop. And lets be honest your not doing it for the fan base, your doing it to one up GameStop, or you would have just released the content on the respected MP‘s for free.Michael Gamble wrote...
Hi all,
I just want to recap.
We've released Zaeed, the Normandy Crash, Cerberus Shotgun and Armor. Were these high quality peices of free content? Yes.
There will be more on the way. When? We will be able to announce details pretty soon - but i want to reiterate how committed to quality we are. It would be easy to announce something and deliver on a promised date with lacklustre quality. That's not how BioWare does it.
Since you don’t get anything form the sale of a used game, and ME2 used is about $55 right now and the Cerberus Network is $15, which is really $20, when you take into account that you need to buy a points card, so Microsoft and Sony make 20 bucks right off the back, and for all this “free” content, that you get with the Network. So anyone with a brain would go. Hum if I want all the ME2 content its going to, at this point and time cost me, more to buy the game used, than it would to buy it new. And even when the price drops, the network is still 15 bucks. So don’t act like your doing us a favor with the Cerberuses Network. Yeah is a great deal is you buy the game new, but at the end of the day its just an EA/ Bioware gimmick to make money. And don’t get me wrong, you guys deserve it, Gamestop is putting a lot of companies down with the way they do things, and I’m glad to see that you guys are finding ways to fight back, but don’t act like it’s a favor to us, its just insulting.
And as far as your DLC for ME2. I’m glad you brought that up. Could you please go into the tec specs for ME2? I mean keep it stupid simple for me, but I don’t see why the game is on two disk. Did the graphics over hall take up that much space? Because the mission’s where not that massive, there were more in ME1 and DragonAge, and both came on one disk. Maybe I’m missing something. But it seems like all this DLC that you have given out for “free” should have been in the game to begin with. I mean a teammate and his loyalty quest. The Normandy crash site, and the Armor/gun. I mean the lack of armor/guns in this game was insulting. And now it looks like if we want different armor, your going to nickel and dime us, in a round about way. (( I speak for people that don’t have the CN)) And then there is Kasumi now I find it intoresting that a player was able to place Kasumi into the suicide mission/endgame section of Mass Effect 2 by simply changing a few simple values in the saved game file, this means she’s already on the disk, at some level of creation. I wonder just how much of this “Free” Content is stuff already on the game disk?
But that’s not all why we are here, is it? No its because Bioware’s PR sucks.
Let me show you how you guys handle PR. . .
BioWare; Got stuff coming in a couple of weeks. . . . . … . ..
One week latter: . . . .. . .
Two weeks latter: . . . . . . . . .
Let me show you how other’s handle there PR.
Bungie: Just go look over there weekly updates for the past month. You will see things from bugs that are in games that they decide that the community is inelegant enough to understand when bug breaks this, and this happens, this is how we fix it. To stages of development. Sure this is on a full title game and not DLC, But go back even further to when they were doing DLC and you will see the same quality PR.
BioWare I’m telling you, I could do better public relation in my sleep. Because the key to is, is hum just letting the fan’s know what’s going on, if your honest and up to date with them, you would be surprised that no one really gets mad, and you will have more people defending you than flaming you.

Let me correct yourself (besides from the grammar later, not latter)
BioWare; Got stuff coming in a couple of weeks. .
About 10-12 days after: Cerberus Armor and M22a Eviscerator Shotgun are released for free to all the Cerberus Network owners.
Where did theyr PRing failed? They didn't said WHAT was coming, so don't expect the Hammerhead (even if I had hoped for it, but instead I prefer to wait for more content for it and, besides that, a better polished DLC instead of a rushed one!)

Yeah sorry about the grammar, just woke up, I had one hell of a long night.
And two it was confirmed that the armor and shot gun was not the content.
In fact if you want to look at that as bad PR to you can, sure waking up and finding new DLC is cool, and all, but announce the stuff before hand.
Look, face it there PR is lack luster at best, why because there afraid of ridicule? I don’t know. But if they are, the radio silence is doing wonders for there situation

That said, I'm not going to automatically assume that upcoming DLC will be handled in such a terrible manner. I'm hoping that BioWare learnt their lesson with Pinnacle Station and am giving them the benefit of the doubt.

To chime in, we are not OWED anything at this point. When you bought the game you may have been aware of the Cerberus Network and how it was going to work. They told you they would release free content through the network at regular intervals, they have already completed that promise. We got Zaeed and a weapon and an armor set. Deal is done at that point, it's nice that they are going to continue giving us free stuff so STOP COMPLAINING. They also told us that they were planning some DLC that we would have to pay for, as of yet we have no information on that but since when has a company EVER told you what was in the works for DLC? Never. So again STFU.
Well said!

Oh right, an Assassin for hire.
You're acting like it'd be too much to ask to have something similar for Zaeed (not the same premise, of course, but him being a Merc, similar to Thane, is a very poor excuse to not have a recruitment mission).
Sure Thane is an assassin for hire, but not once the entire time you talk to him does the conversation turn to his fee for the job. Thane joins out of some kind of weird amphibian penance, were as Zaeed joins for money, that's it. Sure they could have added 15 to 30 minutes of extra game play to "recruit" Zaeed, but people would still **** about it.

The stuff so far was quality (Zaeed had an alright mission, even if I can't stand the character). I think opening up some more customization options with DLC would be key.
Also, here's to hoping that we'll get a lot of places to scoot around in the Hammerhead.

First loved the game really enjoy it but
Were these high quality pieces of free content? Erm well...
Zaeed was so mediocre he may as well not have been released (imho) he adds nothing to the story breaks blue sun continuity with the first book (I cant get the time line to square but I could be wrong) and once his loyalty mission is done I don't see the point in using him. It may be a bug but he failed to appear in some latter cut scenes where the whole team was present.
Normandy crash was ok for the reminiscing bits but not exactly deep. Who were the 20 dead crew members? No names at all meant I had no connection to them, they were supposed to be your crew who died not 20 tokens sonic forgot to pick up.
Cerberus Shotgun and Armor : Yeah some armor that looks like a white hazmat suit, and yet again has no helmet toggle and a shotgun...yep I dont know about anyone else that is impressive.
So free yes quality - debatable. If this is the quality you want hammerhead, and if it exists Kasumi, to match please please bump it / them to paid and make it as good a Shale. Id pay for good rather than have mediocre free.
Still I wont complain about dlc being held from release to improve it, I just hope what comes latter especially any team members or story segments are better than Zaeed.
