Hey!
I have a theory that the big 'boss' in ME3 is going to be defeating the rest of the reapers on route to destroy the races. After finishing ME2 the first time, I went back to ME1, finished it on very hard, leveled up to 60 and did specific things:
- Saved the rachni
- Kept Wrex alive
- Saved the high council
- Appointed the captain to the human council spot
Took my lvl 60 character into ME 2 (get playing ME2 twice bonus, PLUS the character import bonus):
Kept the team alive through the suicide mission
Saved the collectors ship for Cerberus. I also gave the data to Cerberus (that would further hurt the council's view of Cerberus).
Changed the 'rogue' geth with the virus so they would have them return to the entire collective
Convinced the doctor to keep the Genophage cure his former assistant was working on
The only choice I outright hated was saving the collector ship, I don't have a complete trust for cerberus, but felt that it could give us valuable tech & understanding to use against the reaper. My main concern with that is that Cerberus may have the "can't beat 'em, join em," mentality that Sarin had in ME1. Saving the collector ship would be very usefull as a bargaining tool in that regard. Cerberus is out to save humanity, but will they go to the point where they sacrifice the other races to do it?
I'm curious to see how my decisions in ME1 & 2 impact ME3 - what's everyone's thoughts / opinions?
Planning for the big fight in ME 3... what to do for ME1 & 2 critical events...

You've done a good job maximizing your allies. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or more of your allies try to sell you out. It just depends on how many "twists" there are with ME3. Right now I don't trust all the factions within ANY of my allies.
Cereberus is obvious but the Xen faction of Quarians could be issues ... rachni have proven vulnerable to indoctrination, Krogans are fragmented, the council likely doesn't trust me, the Geth have mostly shot at me, etc ....

Good points - I'm assuming that the only geth that shot at me were the heretic geth, and Legion was shep's first contact with the other geth. If that is so, then there's a good foundation for them joining the fight!

I did everything you did except give the base to cerberus. Ive heard TIM gives you a maniacal smile if you agree to give him the base, and that just doesn't sit right with me. Foreboding, in fact. I look at it this way: If Cerberus isn't your ally in ME3 that matters less than if he tries to make reapers out of the other council species. Heck, Cerberus's relevance in ME2 is only as a source of intel, he barely pays you. Their forces represent a miniscule fraction of the forces you have at the end of ME2 (that being the geth, quarians, rachni, and Krogans) and the military strength of cerberus is almost non-existant. So in the end, it was a calculated risk based on the info EDI tells you after her blocks are removed. Not to mention refusing to give TIM the base only means he is most likely going to try to stab you in the back at the end of ME3 because he knows that 1) Shephard is too valuable to kill during the reaper assault and 2) He's also too dangerous to cross with the forces he commands.

I'm not liking brainwashing the Geth. Still convinced that they reversed paragon/renegade on that.

I destroyed the base and kept operative Rawling's data for myself. Because i don't trust the Illusive Man.
I also destryed the heritics and wiped Maelon's data

I think those choices influence the post-war period more than they influence the war itself. Otherwise choices like saving the rachni or curing the krogan would be a win-lose situation, not really logical considering you don't have to put any extra effort in picking the win option.

I agree. I think it is going to be like the end of the first Blood Omen. Either way you "win" but depending on your choices the world afterwards will be a very different place. Though i don't think BioWare will force you to sacrifice yourself like Kain has to.
