People should just accept the science of Mass Effect, I mean, even now we don't have any scientific understanding of how sentient life comes about.

Its Science Fiction, just accept convergent evolution and be done with it.

You can't "accept the science" when there is no science involved.

There's no reason why anyone should have to accept shoddy writing.

This is BS. Eezo's functioning is explained pretty reasonably. Its use is consistent within the setting. The writers don't describe how eezo works and then violate those rules whenever possible.

Given the number of Tali/Garrus/Thane fans, I'd say alien attraction isn't as far fetched and 'Tolkien' as you'd think. And that's just for a game. Given real humanoid aliens I wouldn't be surprised in the least to find inter-species relationships popping up pretty quickly (relatively speaking).

Yes,I would  completely accept that - if biotics were limited to send things floating, pulling. kinetic barriers etc. But how to account for something like "Incinerate"? I repeat, it's the *different* things eezo does that makes it silly.

You do realize that incinerate isn't a biotic power?

I would like to have sex with Queen Alien from the Aliens. You can't find any more "alien" than that!

I don't find it that silly at all really, its fine if it continues to be done in a mature way like ME1 & ME2 in ME3 and anything beyond then. I did find the first Jack sex scene a little cheesy/hammy lol, not immature or anything but it was cringe worthy watching the scene.

Having just finished the game, and subsequently endured Garrus' romance, I can now say that yes, I considered the romance silly.

Not the romance itself, but the way it was done. It had a lot of potential, most of it wasted. Shepard has all the emotional engagement of a dead ferret. I sincerely hope all the other romances are better, but I suspect it won't be by a large margin. On my next play-through, with my ME1 Engineer Shep, I'll probably just refrain from doing any of them.

I admit it's a very good idea at the start, especially considering there's a lot of matter in the universe we know next to nothing about. But it's an idea extended to include so many effects that it has become silly.

Not necessarily; a fundamental mechanics like that can have extremely wide range of uses, it doesn't make it silly or the mechanics to be necessarily "extended" to have application in such wide range. Consider for example electricity -- how it's the backbone for our transport, heating, lighting, communication, computation, entertainment and tons of other things.

I find asari incredibly creepy. You can talk about the physical attractiveness of the other aliens, and point to the fact that you may not be able to properly reproduce with them or that ther appearances could be a turn off, but at least their romances are centered around the idea of their personality, and who they are as a person, and partially overcoming the fact that you're not the same species designed for each other.

When you talked to Liara in ME1, her first conversation was basically "Shepard! Let me tell you why asari aren't space ****s and how it's totally not bestiality to sleep with me..." It's just creepy. Not to mention that they way that they reproduce seems like such a disturbing kind of genocide to me. They trapped you in the emotional and physical circumstances of a potentially reproduce relationship with a member of your own species, but reproducing wit them just produces more asari. It's outright parasitic.

They, Creep. Me. Out.

I don't have any problems romancing an alien but of course physiological constitution must not be completely different from the human one but I can understand that given the fact turians do not really have lips the designers didn't manage to imagine a good kiss between Shepard and Garrus. It would be difficult to romance volus, elcors, hanars or krogans although there could be affection without physical contact.

It's ironic that TIM doesn't seem to have problems romancing a Matriarch. I've said in another post that it would fit somewhere in the story to see an Asari going into the Illusive Man's mind.

Asari are the exception not the rule. I'm all for interspecies unity, but having sex with a Quarian, Turian, Drell, ect.. is a small step up from Zoophilia. I say Asari are the exception because of the way they reproduce and their biology. My Sheps only dates humans. I know this is Sci Fi but still....

male shep needs to dump tali for a female volus. that would be the funniest thing ever.

I did Tali's romance just for kicks and words just can not describe how odd it felt. I saw Garrus's romance on youtube. How can anyone take that relationship seriously? Thane's looked to be the best out of the three, but it still looked very weird to me. I

I found tali cute in the first ME so i was very excited when i found out i could pursure a  relationship with her. Besides tali love my shep why shouldnt he love her

Way to necro a year-dead thread.

They're a bit silly, yes, but also reasonable in a certain sense as there are deviants of all sorts.

There are people on earth NOW who will get their rocks of with horses, sheep, corpses, and god only knows what else, I certainly don't.

It's not improbably to consider the idea of certain individuals being Xenophiles, and apparently in galactic culture, it's not particularly stigmatized. Note the Turian and Quarian in the Illium bar, all of the Tali-lovers on the forum, and Fornax.

Hell Even Garrus makes a lot of comments about how he's not sure how he feels about it, though he's willing to go through with it because he legitimately cares for Shepard, though he never considered it before.

You do have the option to not pursue the alien-options if your Shepard is not so inclined. I'm personally playing my Paragon as not entirely comfortable about it, but he cares about Tali, and my Renegade has some emotional issues driving her to get physical with aliens, even as she pushes a strong pro-human agenda. That's how I choose to play them.

Evidently its a more open minded universe in Mass Effect and that relationships outside of ones race does happen. Mordin was quite informed about the dangers presented with intimacy between races and there was methods and cautionary measures that can be used to limit them.

Thread necromancy is frowned upon. This thread is ten months dead.
