So far Awakenings is sounding like a "wait and see" for me

The things that I enjoyed so much in Origins are going to be gone from Awakenings. Typical. I'll wait to buy it when it hits the 50% off rack.
What about the things that will be in Awakenings that wasnt in Origns?
Maybe you should return Orgins and get 50% back.

Eh. Pirate first, buy if it proves itself. Piracy is the new demo!

or deep characters with proper, uh, character?
If I can't see the entire goals and motives of a character in a 30 second trailer, I find them lacking depth too.

But there is nothing wrong with waiting to see how the game turns out. Infact it's prob the smartest thing to do.

I will be waiting to see your reaction then because I WANT to be in the I can't F*IN wait to play this game group, but I am really attatched to Origins and I have a picture of the way things end up for my PC's. I worry that the expansion that ignores all the NPC love both friends (Leil and ALi), sisters (Morrigan), and lovers (Zev and leil sometimes), will cheapen what I consider a very emotional and engaging story that also happens to be a game I play. If people with your enthusiasm come out of the game with the same amount of joy then maybe it will be worth it, at least as an Orlais warden or maybea virgin warden, or a psycho warden with no attatchments- heh I do have one of those characters.

If the price were $20-25 it would easilly be in the impulse buy range. But $40 seems a bit pricey if the game really does turns out to be 10-15 hours without my favorited companions. If at least Dog were there, maybe.
But I'd love nothing more to hear that "I CAN'T F*IN WAIT TO PLAY THIS!" group weren't disappointed.

It's like showing up to your weekly AD&D game and having the DM collect your characters and announce, "Forget everything that you did for the last month and a half. We're continuing the campaign, but THIS is how it's going to be..." and crossing off nearly everything from your character sheet.
Then he says, "You can still play this guy if you want."

I noticed a lot of people are not too happy about there being no romantic encounters with companions. I also notice all the folks who played ME2 upset because the romance scenes were boring and uninspired.
I'm kinda thinking Bioware should make a game where that's all you do. lol

Perhaps some of the change has come because David Gaiden is not lead writer this time around. I know that usually buggers up TV shows that I have enjoyed immensely for four seasons then get to the fifth and say, "What is this crap?" *cough*Alias*cough*
...I'm pretty sure he is lead writer still.
