Aside from the people going "this actor sucks!" without giving any adequate reason why.

Ah yes, <insert noun>, it's just an obsession.

It's rather hard to rate more heavily modified voice actor, like those of Quarians and Turians. I thought all of the admiralty board had somewhat regal voices and I liked them. Now Turians on the other hand... I'm not sure if I can tell which one is which when they are speaking with a notable exception of the Turian council member. I will never forget his voice.

I happen to think renegade FemShep beats them all.

As I've said before:

Renegade FemShep: Ruthless, angry, determined.
Paragon FemShep: Caring, empathetic.

Renegade ManShep: -_-
Paragon ManShep: -_-

Really? I play a Paragon FemShep and a Renegade MaleShep and I can't for the life of me switch the two.

Paragon FemShep sounds caring and empathetic like you said, while sounding heroic, disciplined and determined. Renegade MaleShep is badass, partly due to the deadpan/monotone voice he puts into funny Renegade lines.

When I tried playing Renegade FemShep or Paragon MaleShep, I felt that the voices fell flat on both sides.

Maybe Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale are just suited for certain vocal personalities. Or maybe I'm just too used to them in that personality to change.

Just like I said before, femshep is trying way too hard...sounds so unnatural & forced.

You leave Raidan alone.

I don't like Mark Meer...but I think it's just the way the character is played. Like a dead fish being poked with a stick. No one is especially bad though, they have their moments. Even Jen Hale on Samara's quest. "I really get by on public EXTRANET TERMINALS because my ommi tool has been broken for an ETERNITY" Subtle....Yet Meer managed to sound normal for a change...

Ironically isn't that the one time Shep is supposed to sound a little off?
How would you sound if you were asked to slip in code words into a sentence on the spot?

Meer was far better than Hale on that line. Hale just sounded like she was speaking from a script and was slightly bored with the proceedings, whereas Meer sounded like he was threatening the guy.

I'm telling it like it is, Hale's line wasn't exceptional for that line but how anyone can tell me with a straight face that Meer delivered it in anything other than a stilted monotone is beyond me.

Yeah but the girl already knows the code words and what order they go in. You just seem weird and suspicous to that guy she's sitting with.

So true. I love how the entire Quarian fleet is basically the cast of Dragon Age Origins. When I heard Loghain, and then Morrigan, I realized who the REAL badguys were in this game.

Quarians are EVILLL. EEEEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIILLLL.

What?!? Xen isn't Evil! She's the only hope of the Quarians! The only reason I didn't destroy the Heretic Geth is so the Geth that will be under the Quarians will be of a greater number!:lol::lol:

Hahaha! I thought I was the only one!

She'll kick the world's @ss with her Geth army. LEAD OFF WITH A CONE OF COLD, XEN!

Aresth, the guy at the end of Jack's loyalty quest. His voice actor doesn't sound like he is trying. He just sort of....talks. That's about it. You'd think a clearly insane person would have a bit more emotion in their voice. No, I don't think he should be gibbering like a mad man. He just shouldn't be speaking in monotone. Why was he even in the game? His presence during Jack's loyalty quest serves no purpose.

Aside from him, I found most of the voice acting in this game to be great. Even most of the minor characters have good voice acting.

Edit: I don't get this debate about Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale. In my opinion both of them are decent voice actors and I have no preference. I don't see why people idolize one of them but then berate the other.

lol!! Adam Baldwin, you just pointed out a male actor with the most highest voice. Exactly proving my point, its not about the actors being male or female, you just dont like deep resonating voices.

Mark Meer has a prominant adam's apple, that's why his voice is so deep.

Most highest?
Also ... have you actually heard Raphael Sbarge?

Have I ever criticised his voice based on it's deepness?

I don't know, Meer's voice is a lot more forceful, even when it is kind of flat. Hale's Renegade lines make it sound like she's running out of breath by the end of the sentence and removes emphasis from the last word.

I still like Meer for Renegade and Hale for Paragon.

I not getting into the flaming of voice actors, personally I think they are all talanted and fit their roles well.

What got me though was the Quarian Admiralty being the cast from DAO pretty much. They could have split them up or something. lol. Although it was good to hear Logain recarnate!

I actually think Mark Meer's somewhat monotone delivery adds to the humor. It reminds me of JC Denton from Mass Effect.

My favorite Mark Meer line was when he gave that drug addict politician a depressant instead of the mental stimulant he asked for and said

"Here, this will take care of all your problems."

The way he delivered that line was hillarious.

Still, a few exceptions aside this game has great voice acting and I think some of the best voice acting actually came from the more minor characters.

I thought the guy who played as the head of C-sec(forgot his name) was especially good.

Yep. That whole thing was a riff on scenes in god knows how many movies or shows where someone hamfistedly delivers some code phrase that's utterly obvious and yet still gets away with it.
