ok now you're just losing your credibility on the whole monotone thing, sounds nothing like that & now your just sounding ridiculous & super bias.

I'm telling it like it is, Hale's line wasn't exceptional for that line but how anyone can tell me with a straight face that Meer delivered it in anything other than a stilted monotone is beyond me.

I do like what he did with the 'unscathed', but he lost me everywhere else in that scene.  I mean, it's not horrid, just kinda...lifeless.  Hale does deliver that first bit like she's rather bored, which works fine for the scene, but isn't particularly interesting.  She definitely gives a better reading of the next "I'm in a hurry" bit. She actually sounds impatient, as she should.

Aresth, the guy at the end of Jack's loyalty quest. His voice actor doesn't sound like he is trying. He just sort of....talks. That's about it. You'd think a clearly insane person would have a bit more emotion in their voice. No, I don't think he should be gibbering like a mad man. He just shouldn't be speaking in monotone. Why was he even in the game? His presence during Jack's loyalty quest serves no purpose.

IT-WILL-BE-BEAUTIFUL.

Eh... I think this is more based off of you not liking Tali. I thought Stroka did a good job with the voice acting. I thought they all did a great job. Other than some random NPCs I couldn't pick out one actor/actress I really hated.

No one's really even paying attention to him anymore.  It's ironic that you actually ended up feeding him with this plea to stop feeding him.  Good work.

The forum train for this thread derailed into a Meer/Hale argument a while ago, anyway.:P

This is not a troll thread. Discussing the talent behind this game's voice work is a legitimate discussion.

Ya. While the OP may have intended this as a troll-thread, the thread does have a valid question. Of course, the problem w/ notions of 'good' / 'bad' / 'worst' is that it tends to be subjective... *shrugs*

As for Meer: I don't like his take on Shep (one of the reasons I prefer playing FemShep most of the time), but it's not so bad. I guess I'd have preferred a ManShep closer in voice to Wrex. :D

Nobody really stood out as bad to be honest. Zaeed made me cringe at times, but it was more to do with his voice sounding like someone I know, than him being badly voiced.

So true. I love how the entire Quarian fleet is basically the cast of Dragon Age Origins. When I heard Loghain, and then Morrigan, I realized who the REAL badguys were in this game.

Quarians are EVILLL. EEEEEEEEEEEEEVIIIIIIIILLLL.

As i said before Claudia black(morrigan) should have been tali's voice instead of the admiral's voice

Claudia black as Tali? Nah. It'd make her sound too much like that cow Morrigan.

Tali's supposed to be loveable, not hateable.

Martin Sheen was the worst. I mean like yea right. An actor of his calibur in a Video game? Give me a break. It's like drinking champagne because you got out of bed and dressed yourself.

jennifer hale and mark meer both have parts were there voices dont sound good like when male shepard gives tali a hug that was intended for female shepard and when you say renegade things which suits male shepard better.LIke when you go in to find modrin and you say youll kill looters female shepard voice does not fit that part at all

Jennifer Hale all in all does a fine job, and Mark Meer is lengths better than he was in ME 1. If anything, all of the central VAs improved, imho.

You kidding? I think he did a great job. He didn't phone it in like some high price actors do *cough*Patrick Stewart*cough*
Don't get me wrong, I respect Stewart's acting but he was rubbish in Oblivion.

I just don't see that fitting her character. Like, at all. Anyway, Liz Sroka's VA was some of the best, IMO.

Be fair, I don't think you can call the three or four lines he had "rubbish". There wasn't enough dialogue to even qualify.

I agree with you about Sheen. I thought he did a stellar job.

Actually I totally agree with Angry One. FemShep delivers her line effortlessly, it flows like water and is believable, while MaleShep sounds forced and I didn't get where he sounded threatening at all. It was more like :*sigh* I have to wave my gun around.... *more sigh*

That depends on whether you truly consider Mark Meer to be the worst voice actor in Mass Effect. Honestly, I like his Renegade lines, but that's about it.

I've always thought MaleShep/Mark Meer sounded particularly awkward at some points, but he's also got the hardest job. Shepard, obviously, has the greatest sheer volume of dialogue, so there's more opportunity to slip in some flatliners. Also, Shepard is usually the one directing the conversation, so his dialogue is much less reactive than the other characters. It's easier to inject emotion in a response than in a question, and Shepard asks a lot of questions. I wish I could compare it to FemShep's dialogue, but all my playthroughs have been MaleShep.

Of course, none of this can mitigate the supreme ridiculousness that is Shep's conversation with Morinth in Afterlife. Shep is supposed to be some hard rocking renegade badass, but he sounds like Kieth freakin' Morrison.

Mark Meer, and that's actually saying a lot. Sometimes the lines don't, ah, flow as well as they should, even if the delivery is good. It sounds like it's all one-liners at points. It's still far from being bad, however.

I'm trying to think of any voice in the game that's outright bad, but can't think of any off the top of my head.

Hey, guess that's a good thing.
