Firstly, I love ME1 to death so I imagine ME2 is great.

Only, I'll seemingly never find out because of the monumental ****ups.

I now own ME2 collectors edition (because I like paying extra for the crippled software?). It won't run on my W7 64bit, yes I have the latest drivers and yes it's all supported hardware at least the recommended. I come to the conclusion a reinstall is required as despite several compatibility attempts it still crashes on load.

Whilst uninstalling ME2, ready for a reinstall and patch I take a squizz over the 1.01 readme. Lo and behold I see that one of the bug fixes is that it removes ME1. Epic fail I think, but surely that hasn't just happened to me, surely my ME1 saves haven't been deleted? But oh yes, they are f-ing well gone.

After a quick bit of file recovery (if anyone can get peoples banking information off a hard drive I sure as hell can get my hard fought saves!) I get the saves back. Now all I have to do is get ME2 running, which I eventually do, and it's all patched up and installed in compatibility mode and amazingly it's found my recovered ME1 saves. Which fail to do anything. They show up but no details are displayed and obviously the next step does not happen.

I find out that I *may* be able to get the saves if I beat the end game and watch the whole chuffing credits! Only ME1 has been uninstalled by the &@$%&$ at EA and BW. So I am currently getting ME1 back on the machine to spend more time looking at the scrolling names of the idiots who have charged me £40 for the privilege of disappearing hours and hours of my life.

Also, this wouldn't have gone on the forum if I could find the support e-mail address for the game.

Nice one!

I'll be thinking twice about ever looking at a game with the EA logo again thanks to your genius and making sure everyone I even pass in the street over the next week knows about it.

Where is the damn smiley for someone who wishes they owned a gun and lived near a bell tower and/or EA?

Predictably I can't get into any of the saves until I install all of the DLC and patch ME1 to the same level as before. JOY!!!!!

It runs finely for me with settings maxed out on Windows 7 64bit.. and I've already finished the game twice (72 hours playthrough and 64 hours playthrough) your problem most probably relies on your hardware/software (drivers etc)

my specs are:
Intel Quad Core Q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz
4GB DDR2 Ram (from Cell Shock 4-4-4-12 timing)
NVidia GeForce GTX 260
Asus P5N32-E SLI Motherboard

And as you can see, it's not all "latest hardware", it's more than 2 years old except the videocard.
Now, instead of whining like an angry girl, you could have instead used the form that BioWare wrote down to explain your problem, doing that way it's far easier for them to try to guess what your problem is, since every software probably can't run flawlessly in the miriad of hardware combinations, becouse as always, *crap* happens!

Pretty much the same sort of hardware I'm running. It wasn't a hardware issue unless the patch fixed more than the release notes let on.

I've fixed my own problems so I'm now enjoying the game, it's pretty darn good. I needed to vent and I can whine like an angry girl if I've encountered some pretty showstopping errors that are fairly unexcusable. I can handle an app crashing, I'm a sys admin and it happens all too often, but not one that nerfs itself and any previous version when it's being troubleshot.

I don't know anyone who works on games but the devs I know would be pretty unimpressed with the situation and the guys at work would get a serious bollocking for something as horrific as this.
