I think I'll refrain from voting in this one. The only thing I'd suggest is to have a setting that has the widest possible variety in environments. Although, I like the idea of subtle political intrigue, so a location that can bring that to the table would be worthwhile (Orlais, for instance).

I think Orlais sounds extremely annoying. I really couldn't stand their accents because they sounded like they wanted to be French, yet they didn't. I would love to visit the Trevinter Imperium because that sounds like the darkest place in the Dragon Age universe. Having slavery, wierd types of magic, and untrusted throughout, the Trevinter Imperium sounds awesome.

I agree that Orlais sound like the last place I'd want to go. For one thing Lelianna is from there, and we all know how I feel about her (not good).

For another they are decadent weaklings, and a game set in it would probably mean that it would be based on "political intrigue" idiocy. I am so sick of political intrigue. I want to burn the castle down, not talk to the king. Almost everything Lelianna said about Orlais sickened me. They sound like a fat, decadent country.

Tied for first choice Tevinter and Antiva - Tevinter popped into my head first. So, I will stick with that. Actually, I voted Antiva
but

1. Tevinter
2. Antiva
3. Orlais
4. Par Vollen
5. Anderfels
6. All the seas and Islands
7. Remaining countries

I'm throwing in for Rivain. A chance to see a culture: not dominated by the Chantry (they follow the Natural Order), with a semi-permanent Dalish encampment (outside Llomerryn), A strong Qun and Qunari presence (Kont-aar) , we could learn more about the wise women and how their intentional abomination-ing works.

How the Dalish feel and react to the Tevinter Imperium.

It seems to me that what little we know about Rivain shows us that they are an open-minded and tolerant people. Perhaps we could see more of the Half-elvish (humans with an elvish parent). And if there is no Chantry do the Rivaini still keep city elves in Alienages? If they don't where do the city elves live?

I'll add more if I can think of anything else.

I want to go to Antiva! It seems the most interesting because of their views on assasination and sex. :)

Even though it is not an option in the poll, I would like to visit the Donarks or the Sea of Ash or some uncharted territory to the south oreven across the ocean with the option to visit the lands beyond and be the first one to take a glimpse of the realms there.

I image something like this: The hero and his party travel beyond the farthest point of the explored world and see a city full of strange people doing some dark rituals and preparing an invasion...

Antiva, though I suspect I might go into DA overload if it became an expansion. Me? Zevran? Pitted against the Crows? Oh mai.

Rivain sounds intriguing and really creates an interesting contrast to what we currently have been exposed to (in the game). It would be the "freshest" location to me and create the most range in terms of experience to me as a player in the setting, but all of them sound pretty interesting.

1. Orlais. I mentioned to Leliana at one point, I think, a desire to see Val Royeaux and I meant it. For one, the Chevaliers need to be taken down a notch or two, and I'd like to learn more about them while I'm shoving their faces into the dirt for raping women. And let's face it, that accent is hot.

2. Tevinter Imperium. I know they handle magic differently than Ferelden, and I want to see their take on it as well as pick up a few foreign tricks to impress the girls back home.

3. Qunari lands. I don't know what they're rightly called, sorry, but I also promised Sten I'd go with him when he went back home. I want to learn more about their culture, and whether it's genetically possible for a Qunari to smile. Aside from that, I know they too have a different breed of magic barely whispered of in Ferelden.

I also have a vague desire to meet the Queen of Antiva.

Cutting out the tongues of their mages and shooting you with a cannon?

Nevarra.

"The whole country is filled with artistry, from the statues of heroes that litter the streets in even the meanest villages to the glittering golden College of Magi in Cumberland. Perhaps nowhere is more astonishing than the vast necropolis outside Nevarra City. Unlike most other followers of Andraste, the Nevarrans do not burn their dead. Instead, they carefully preserve the bodies and seal them in elaborate tombs. Some of the wealthiest Nevarrans begin construction of their own tombs while quite young, and these become incredible palaces, complete with gardens, bathhouses, and ballrooms, utterly silent, kept only for the dead."

--From Codex Entry: Nevarra

I was sold when I read the description of the Blood Dragon Armor. Nevarra, dragonbone and tomb loot. Sounds like a great place to cleanse barrows, to me.

Ahh glorious Antiva gets my vote, though it was a close call between her and Par Vollen.

A country which is essentially run by the House of Crows has a lot going for it in terms of the plot and politcal aspects and so on. Plus it sounds earthy yet vibrant, and not in the flowery over the top way that I would imagine Val Royeaux or any of the other Orlesian Cities.

Also the accent just gets me every time (my heart fluttered when hearing Master Ignacio speak *swoon*)

As for Par Vollen, the Qunari are an extremely intriguing people. I'd love to find out more about the Qun and the Tal-Vashoth and all of those things. Plus the way Sten described it reminded me somewhat of Feudal Asia (with the smells of tea and incense and whatnot) so I think it would be a very interesting place to go at some point in the future.

Also the possibility of maybe working with Sten again is a good one as far as I'm concerned :)

I have a feeling that Orlais would be great, though I have concerns about what the the voice work would be like, based on the horrendous "french" "accents" (Leliani excepted) in DA:O; I'm not sure if I could stand an entire game of that.

Par Vollen would also be great - as much as the Tevinter Imperium would be really interesting, the focus on magic in DA was already quite high, so it would be good to go somewhere like Par Vollen where the 'mixing pot' for plots, quests, characters and story are vastly different to Ferelden.

depending on the size of the expansion or game, i would like tevinter in a game or bigger expansion...but places like orlais and antiva would be cool for a smaller expansion. And a quest to the anderfels would be an excellent DLC.

Treventer Imperium

I’ve long been interested in Byzantium history and seeing Treventer compared to that really piqued my interest from the get-go. Also their role in human history is just so pivotal game wise that I naturally want to learn more about them. Their involvement in the Blights, the origin of Blood Magic, the founding of the Chantry, the Qunari invasions, and much much more just begs for more exploration. The downside I see is that Treventer is so tied to so much game lore that it might be hard to do the area justice by doing it next. In my mind it’s probably safer to do other areas first.

Rivain would probably be my second choice.

Tevinter Imperium.

Most of the codex entries and other lore sources ingame are full of Chantry propaganda (usually the noted autor is Genitivi or Petrine), so I'd like to hear the other version. Also, magic...

The second choice would be Rivain or Par Vollen because the qunari culture sounds interesting.

I think I want to see Tevinter the most, but Orlasis as been built up so much we have to see it at this point.
