I kinda wanted to go back and play another new character, to import to ME2.

I'm having trouble playing it again though. Compared to ME2, it's very outdated and the controls and gameplay just aren't as advanced.

Part of me kinda wishes BioWare would make a patch for ME1 to make combat and movement more like that of ME2... I know that's not gonna happen though.

What are you talking about? The controls are about the same. Only difference I can discern are the slightly lower resolution textures and the lack of reloading in the first game.

Nope. Having an enormous amount of fun with my new Engineer.

Though accidentally tossing grendades at civilians whilst trying to put my weapon away....

No troubles here. Other, non-ME games, however...

Between ME1 and ME2, I really don't feel the need to play anything else. The balance of story+shooting crap=perfect game for me. And now I have two of them.

Thanks Bioware, for saving me money!

Nope I am haveing no trouble going back to play ME1. I am for a patch for ME1 if I can have a patch to remove the ammo clips from ME2 and adding grenades. Really why the hell did they remove grenades.

well... First of all, I kept forgetting that I didn't have to reload my guns in ME1, so I kept throwing grenades after shooting a few rounds, and it would end up sticking to the cover right in front of me, and I had to make a mad dash away from said cover.

Compared to ME2, the armor options are lacking (armor just plain looks ugly compared to the N7 armor in ME2).

I like how you have a key to move to cover in ME2, and it doesn't just do it automatically like in ME1.

So, that's basically it... My main complaint is the combat system. ME2 has a much more fun combat system, and I just find it hard to adapt to the one in ME1 again. Don't get me wrong though, ME1 is still awesome and I played the hell out of it lots of times. I just need more time re-adapting to it. I changed the sprint key to spacebar, and the powerwheel key to shift, that helped a lot.

Accidentally tossing grenades = annoying.

Realizing you've just made the same choice as you did the last x-1 times because you're addicted a certain LI = annoying.

Playing a new class knowing how much fun it will be in ME2 = priceless.

It's probably a bit easier for us Xbox players. The controls are almost the same, except you have to down-stick to crouch (you can't auto-crouch behind low cover) and 'back' button tosses a grenade instead of putting your weapon away (which X in ME1).

Ahh yeah, that is nice how you can crouch in ME1... There doesn't appear to be a way to crouch in ME2, unless you are in cover.

But yeah, I've played both the Xbox360 and PC versions of ME1, and the controls are very different.

the very minor differences in controls didnt bother me, the fact that the actual combat in ME1 is completely inferior to ME2 did.

I'm having troubled going back to ME1, the first 3 hours of ME are boring, the first 3 hours of ME2 are exhilirating.

Yeah the whole grenade/reload problem was the only problem I had playing ME1 again. Not that much time has passed : \\

I went back and beat ME1 twice since ME2 came out. Call me weird but I like the combat better in ME1.. Go play gears or something

I actually prefer a lot of ME1's controls. Rather than throw grenades when trying to reload, I've reloaded when trying to throw grenades, gotten the radial menu when trying to sprint, and so on. I had to change the layout a bit when I started playing. I don't remember what the default controls were, but I use E to take cover and such with, and that's tolerable.

Aside from that, the main things I dread about going back to ME1 for my "ideal" playthrough is the loading and travel involved. I would've preferred it if they'd kept it somewhat the same in ME2, making you walk around the Citadel rather than just use rapid transit from door to door, but having played it the "faster" way, going back will be hard all the same.

yeah i have the same problem. ME1 just seems to suck so bad now, i can't even play it. not enough to get to level 60 and get all the important decisions done at least. and i can't get through most boring gameplay parts.

Actually I think most players will stick with Mass Effect since the developers have agreed that the pacing and action could be better!
