Well, there's no reason to go back. Aside from creating a perfect paragon male Shepard, which, in my world, isn't worth the frustration.

The "Slowmo 5" cheat code is your friend. Speeds everything up so you don't have to pull your hair out. I had the same bored feeling you had but wanted to have a Shepard free of any LI.

Oh god, I forgot about this command. Thanks for reminding me. Yes... YES!!!

On the contrary.

While the gameplay isn't as "slick" in ME1, the story and atmosphere just blows ME2 away.

ME1 for me is very much a "One. More. Turn." sort of game, whereas ME2 is nice enough for what it is, but starts to bore me after a few missions.

Cheat code? I assume that means it's a PC thing. If so, that's no good for me. I'm a console gamer.

Eh sorry about that. Googled it up a bit and there is no equivalent on the console Posted Image

It's jarring returning to ME1 after spending 100+ hours on ME2, mostly because of how the use of the space bar was entirely changed up. Although after laughing like mad as my HMWSG X essentially SNIPED people and being encased in basically a shield of shrapnel with the ability of firing forever, all my doubts disappeared.

I miss the ME2 biotic system, plus i always throw grenades when i instinctively try to reload. Also selling the huge amount of guns, armor, upgrades, amps etc. i get after every mission gets tiring

Allthough i did miss the marko

I'm having troubled going back to ME1, the first 3 hours of ME are boring, the first 3 hours of ME2 are exhilirating.

go play a shooter then because all you want is action.

Actually I think most players will stick with Mass Effect since the developers have agreed that the pacing and action could be better!

If all you want is pacing and action why play ME, go play Halo, Gears, Bioshock,
or any of the hundreds of other shooters out there, stop ruining the
RPG genre.

no offense but the RPG genre wasn't good to begin with. it was at the verge of death until the Mass Effect saga came out.

The RPG genre was fine for those who enjoyed it, which is what BioWare was built upon.  I'd say the 3.2 million copies of DA:O kind of debunks the idea that the RPG genre was dying. If the RPG genre is so bad then why are more and more games taking elements from it?

Mass Effect 1 was a good, but deeply flawed from the start. I liked the game, but was glad it was only around 10 hours.

Yeah, I rushed through it a few times for more imports but the gameplay is garbage compared to what it is in ME2.

Nope. Having an enormous amount of fun with my new *insert class*

Though accidentally tossing grendades at civilians whilst trying to put my weapon away....

This. I had to remap the keys in ME1 cause of ME2... uhhh

Actually ME2 made me replay ME1 again and again. Before I played it only once. Now that ME2 is out, I've replayed it twice during this month already.
Though the combat pretty much sucks compared to ME2. Mako is still pain in the ass but overall, I'm having a lot of with ME1 AND ME2 now.

It's not so much the holster/grenade thing bothering me, as the combat. ME2's difficulties are way better balanced than ME1's. I was fighting my way through Eden Prime again the other day and wondering why the heck the geth were taking so long to kill. I checked the difficulty setting and realized I'd been playing it on Insanity without realizing. The AI fought more like ME2's casual setting just with a zillion extra hitpoints.

One of the things I missed the most from ME 1 was seeing a base/cluster of enemies pop up on my radar, drive the mako up some huge cliff, get out and crouch over to the tip so I just barely see the first enemy pop up on my sniper scope then blast them from miles away.

Otherwise, ME 2 fills the void.

nope I like ME1 better. Maybe combat isnt as simple but the game is just that much better. The glitches I get in ME2 combat are annoying. my shepard facing one way shooting another.

No I actually rather play ME1 then ME2 as it is now, ME2 is to much like a puzzle with too many missing pieces.

I can't play ME1 any more. In fact, playing after my 2nd playthrough was a chore since the combat is only interesting until you figure out the absolute shallowness of the gameplay. And then what you're left with is 20% boring Mako Driving, 50% boring shooting, and 30% interesting dialogue. I can't really justify playing a game to only enjoy 30% of it, especially if it's 30% that I've experienced 4 times already and doesn't change playthrough by playthrough.

ME2 on the other hand I have so much fun in combat that I've played through 4 times and I STILL can't bring myself to play any other game. Every class plays so differently and it's just a ton of fun. Even though the story is starting to wear on me (I am getting to that point I skip most dialogue now since I've played it WAY too much in the past month), I am still coming back for the gameplay, which I actually haven't done with a Bioware game ever before.

The Mako must have been worse on the XBOX controller or something... I seriously had no issues driving it with the PC keyboard and aiming the turret with the mouse...
