I still have 4 more playthroughs to finish up before I do my ME2 playthroughs. And honestly Since I've played ME2 once already, I'm having a hard time getting back into ME1 again. Don't get me wrong the story is great and it's a great game and while IMO ME1 does some thing better, overall I much prefer ME2.

ME1 just feels clunky and awkward to me in comparison to ME2.

No troubles here. Other, non-ME games, however...
Between ME1 and ME2, I really don't feel the need to play anything else. The balance of story+shooting crap=perfect game for me. And now I have two of them.

Thanks Bioware, for saving me money!

^^^This. Between ME1 and 2, DA:O, KOTOR, and Jade I hardly play anything else but the random Star Wars, Fable and Tomb Raider game.

I made the mistake of playing thru ME2 before going back and replaying ME1 so I could import a character. ME1 was still fun but the combat and Mako stuff was a little bit of a grind.

The Mako must have been worse on the XBOX controller or something... I seriously had no issues driving it with the PC keyboard and aiming the turret with the mouse...

I've played both versions of ME, the PC is by far the superior version, better MAKO controls, hotkeys, and a more managble inventory system.  Like with the xbox MAKO you can only zoom once instead of being able to zoom twice on PC and the Xobx version wants to go where the turret is pointing instead of keeping driving direction and turret seperate.

The Mako was not difficult to drive at all, unless you've never played games before. It got annoying sometimes on the side planets when you would hit hills at weird angles, but other than that it was "not difficult"

The gun on the Mako was a pain on console. Driving was easy. Shooting without backing up and going forward all the time was annoying.

You've got to be kidding me. The Mako was a great idea but it was horribly implemented. The Mako was easy to drive on flat plains, but those landscapes only consisted of maybe 5-10% of the landscapes your actually driving on.  Majority of the minerals, anomalies, and bases were usually only accessible by transversing rough terrain.

Does anyone actually think that scaling a mountain for 2-3 minutes only to fall back down to the bottom is fun? The new planet scanning is tedius, but not as tedius as the Mako was in ME1.

I just get annoyed when you hit a planet where every cliff is an 80 degree incline and it takes you 20 minutes to get to your first destination.

I have gone back to ME1 to try and get a new end to import into ME2 and I only have 2 real problems with ME1, after having played ME2.

1. Shooting is ME1 is really boring after ME2. ME2 combat is so much better than ME1.

2. I get terrible angst trying to complete any of the ME1 romances, because I go out on guilt trip knowing Tali is sobbing down in engineering because Shepard doesn't see her and I can't tell her it'll be all right in the sequel. Damn Bioware for making her so adorable.

I'm playing ME1 now, for a quick import into ME2. Casual and target assist make it laugably easy. :P not to mention I'm playing a second run to try to reach 60, so have all my high end equipment.

Also, I have 2 frictionless materials in my assault gun. Non stop shooting..

I agree on that, combat in ME2 is more immersive imo than in ME1.

Honestly I'd rather drive up a mountain multiple times then hear probe launched one more time, playing probe wars is the most boring thing ever put into a game that I can think of.

The only thing I found to be an improvement to combat for ME2 was actually being able to headshot things, other then that I found it to be slow, boring and fairly predictable, oh look, another low barrier, I wonder what's coming....

ME2 has more physical interaction between characters and is more cinematic in general. That's what I love about it. What I miss is a Vindicator-looking assault rifle with full auto. I certainly don't miss the ME1 armor. Seeing Conrad wearing ME1 N7 and my Shepard wearing his tricked out ME2 N7 on Ilium made me cringe. Other than that, the side quests in ME2 are more interesting but I didn't really have to go all searching for it with that interface and I hate refueling. ME1 has more epic moments too like the Saren fight on Virmire, Wrex confrontation, Citadel scaling, etc. We also got to debrief as a team instead of Jacob, Shepard, Miranda and new crew member.

Yeah, same with the planet scanning in ME2. I may be insane, but I think if I'm gonna be spending 30 extra hours it would be in the MAKO instead of just launching probes.

I prefer Mako also rather than scanning.
I would take Liara and drive for hours to hear what other remarks she makes if any.
