Why don't we get Uwe Boll to direct this badboy while we're at it?

I would agree on Bale. And what's with the raspy voice complaint? He only does that as two characters.

It was fine in Batman but he did it in Terminator and I felt it was kinda silly.

"ITS ****ING DISTRACTING."

But I think he has the look and charisma and vocal tone to do something like this.

Would anyone else be content with an animated film/series? I'm not sure how well the universe would translate to live action... so if they had to make one I'd almost rather it was animated a la Halo Legends. If Blur could do a CG film I'd be all over it... though I don't think they do feature-lengths.

Christian Bale has a giant baba yaga nose and brown hair and eyes, and his version of sounding heroic is to act like Donald Trump

Which worked fine in American Psycho, but not as an action hero

Animated I think would be better.

Failing that I'd be ok with an actor that is good, but fairly unknown.

Haha Halo Legends was terrible, but yes, I agree an animated series would be better.

If there is truly only 3 mass effect games, a movie would be a good addition.

Though it's up to them to give us this surprise

Would you guys *actually* want Shepard to be in the movie?

It'd kind of ruin it for me if there's an established Shepard. (John Shepard notwithstanding).

Couldn't they make a decent movie of the first contact war? I don't see why not.

Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale. That'll make 2 entirely unique Mass Effect movies.

Angelina Jolie or an unknown female with "the right stuff". She need not be "Shepard" -- but should be the main character.

Obviously "someone" didn't learn that Angelina Jolie ruins game franchises from the Tomb Raider crapfests....

They won't do a Mass Effect movie unless it is done perfectly, and there is more than the game they could make the movie about such as the Rachni Wars (Unlikely).

No stars should play any main characters or it would ruin it.

Lmao

*opens thread*
*sees a bunch of suggestions that looks nothing like Shepard from movies that came out the past 2 years*
*is totally stunned*

'Looking like' the character is about 50th on the list of reasons to cast someone.

My guess is that there are as many Shepards out there as there are players - we all have our own images of how he/she is, values, background, nice guy/bad guy etc. So, if a film is made (making the story kanon) with a character which is totally out of *my* image of Shepard, it would utterly ruin the story I've been told through my game. Sure, make films about the Mass Effect universe, but do not make a film about Shepard. Thank you.

Good thing that this movie is very unlikely of happening then.

P.S any stars in Mass Effect would just ruin that movie, they need an unknown actor/actress to play the role if this is made.

P.S.S If they make a movie with Anderson, Keith David (His voice actor) should play him.

Personally, I think having a ME film would be problematic in my opinion. To me it would feel like a remake. The ME story is good enough to be make into a film, but doing a straight adaptation of the games' story would be a bad Idea. It's such a rich universe that a screenwriter can create his/her character and story and make a film from there. I would see a similar problem with doing a Halo film. Basing it on the games themselves would seem redundant, but basing them on some of the novels would be a wiser choice.

I don't want to see the franchise dragged through the mud. I hate how every good idea, be it a novel or game or whatever, ends up culminating as a bad movie.

Bioware, please don't ruin what you have created.

Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale. They can keep switching between the two for different scenes and no one will act as if anything is out of place.

Shepard will not be in the movie, because he doesn't exist at the time of the movie.

Really what they need to do is make a movie about The Occupation of Shanxi (First Contact War) and the events surrounding that.

Christian Bale or Joe Flanigan (coincidentally, he also plays a John Sheppard on Stargate Atlantis)
