Garrus was affected just great. For half a game he was calibrating something.
NEW squadmates in ME3, Who else wants them? (No hanar, volus -- except for B-GOD, maybe -- or elcor, please)

But seriously, Raloi sound awesome! Additionally, a new Salarian, female Turian, y'know, the usual.

- A Batarian definitely adds interesting dialog and creates a new situation on the ship. Atm we don't have many candidates for a Batarian squadmate though. Bioware would probably have to introduce a new character.
- Tazzik from the Redemption Comics could fill the role of the badass Salarian. It's about time that we finally find a Salarian, who is capable of fighting.
- Maybe Kolyat as a new Drell, who wants to follow his fathers footsteps and aid in the battle against the Reapers ?

1. Bad ass Batarian.
2. A blonde human female. A nice wholesome one too even if she has to be a religous heritic.
3. Blasto!
4. A Salarian that can hold the line.

The Savant.
A human savant, likely not as much dialouge at first.
But he burries a secret: His mother was a slave in an illegal baterian eezo-mine while she was pregnant.
When she escaped with a group of slaves, she died and gave birth to him.
Because of this, his brain contains more eezo than any other biological entity yet found.
To be his really self, he needs to project biotic fields arround him, that work like biotic nervous-systems...which is kinda obvious, when he runs arround.
Also he just talks to persons who have a strong personality when he "unfolds", otherwise his biotic abilities could possibly make the person insane(if he'd speak to an asari, she'd become insane on instant).
Since he is extremely intelligent, he can upgrade Shepards equipment like mordin does.
First, when he still hides his abilities, Shepard could wonder about the engravings on the equipment.
But when the Savant finally shows shepard what he is, the engravings will start to glow, because the savant concentrates his biotic abilities on them.
Ingame this could be implemented by shepard talking to the savant like:"I'd like to concentrate arround 50 percent of your powers on the protections of the squad. And 25% each on weapons and powers."
Resulting in a buff that should be balanced enough that it doesn't become overpowered.

Zulu_DFA, maybe you should just pick up on the fact that so far you have ZERO support for your half baked idea of having new squadmates for ME3 and let the matter die. Bioware are obviously going to listen to the overwhelming majority of their future customers and try to make a game that is satisfying for us as much as possible, so don't be surprised if you're going to be disappointed by the time you get to play ME3.
I won't be dissappointed, don't fret. After what they've done to squadmates' armor, they can't do anything worse. I wasn't using half the squadmates anyway.
As to BioWare listening to fans. Well they do listen. Sometimes. They didn't want to make NG+, but listened to the fans, eventually. Now fans are struggling to comprehend why the heck they cant intimidate anyone with a full renegade scale. They listened to the fans and cut the Mako out in favor of this hypnotic "mine a gas giant for platinum" minigame. Good luck, guys. Will be here after the ME3 release to check in the "BioWare dropped the ball with [insert squadmate]!!!" threads.
Actually what can you talk to Garrus about? He gave you his bio in ME1 and in ME2 he just updated you about what you missed (that wouldn't be there if there were no "Shepard's" death plot twist) and single tale about how he got laid with a cool turian chick. And unless you were about to scrog him, he had nothing more to say to you.
And Garrus is my favorite alien squadmate from ME1 and second (to Mordin) favorite in ME2. That was dissapointment. What is he without Shepard? Nothing.
On the other hand, Ashley with her 2 minute cameo didn't dissapoint me at all. I could see she moved on, was on her way up in the world, was all about her business, and bold enough to secondguess my decisions and loyalties. Same with Liara. Although the direction her character evolved in was kinda surprising, it was still plausible.
Returning to Garrus. He could well replace Cpt. Bailey a C-Sec captain. And have alternate "character-developed" versions of himself: running everything by the book, if "paragonized" in ME1, or ruthless thug if "renegaded" in ME1. That would have been a hell of an impact, choices matter and stuff. As it is I can see people complaining that they don't see the results of their "mentoring" of Garrus in ME1.

Why would people create new forum sigs? ME3 is the last game in the trilogy, with basically everything getting closure.
But to answer your question: No, I don't. But I wouldn't mind a couple new ones(2/3 tops). As long as the focus of the game is on stopping the reapers(with your squad) and not finding new 'friends for a day', because that's been done already. Time to end it with a blast.

I absolutely agree about the focus of ME3. So new squadmates will be treated (this is clear for BioWare too, you know) like they were in ME1 - picked up on the fly, "without strings attached".
I am not so sure about "everything" coming to closure though. The trilogy is about "Shepard vs. Reapers", so this is coming to closure: Reapers destroyed, probably at the expense of the life of Commander Shepard. But the newly saved Galaxy remains, as the BioWare plans for it. Therefore some characters, introduced in the series might have a long and busy virtual life ahead of them. And since of all ME1/2 squadmates only Liara qualifies (can't die) for the new face of the franchice, it makes some sense to introduce a couple of fresh characters.
