Did any of you opt NOT to romance anyone during any of your ME1 playthroughs?

Second question is more opinion based. To what degree do you think there will be a conflict among your ME2 romances and your ME1 romance? I.E. Ashley vs Miranda/Tali/Jack (for male chars).

It's interesting that some have posted they will or did stay "loyal" to their ME1 romance even though the meeting in ME2 was "cool" at best.

I didn't romance anyone in my 'main' ME1 playthrough that I brought over to ME2, because I didn't like any of the romances at all and I wanted to keep my FemShep single for Garrus. When I first played it back when it came out, I romanced Kaidan because he was my only option (as a straight female), but I ended up really disliking the romance and the character by the end of it.



I do hope there will be some conflict, hopefully directly between your LIs, and that you get to choose between them.

I, uh... accidentally stayed loyal to Kaidan. Rejected Garrus and Jacob, and hadn't gotten that far into Thane's dialog.

Yes, as Liara nor Ashley were interesting as romance options.

In ME1 [in several playthroughs] I sacrificed my LI at Vermire because it was for the good of the mission and I hoped Ash understood



I never chose not to at least flirt though ....

I haven't romanced anyone deliberately, but apparently my machismo was too much for Liara who I had to send packing in ME1. I mean that woman was about the easiest thing I have ever seen. At least until I met the shameless, leg humping Yeoman Kelly (see you in your) Chambers, she made Liara look stoic.

 I Romanced Liara, then Tali. I think there will be some conflict in ME3 but honestly, not only did Liara seem no longer interested, she also completely changed as a person.

Stayed true to Liara!
The only other member I found interesting in ME2 was Samara, and she is passing on love even if she really does want/need it.  Oh I forget about Kelly, she's just so bubbly! She really isnt a LI though, so one can play!

Scars of betrayal. If it wasnt for Liara, you would already be Collector goo, or worse, indoctrinated Shepard (ala Upgraded Saren). I did find it odd though that she cant see far enough past her anger at the Shadow Broker to at least pay a little more attention to the love of her life!

I created a shepard who was loyal to ashley and he was a renegade all the way.



second shepard played through ME 1 no romanced and I use him to see all the romances of ME 2.



I then Created a femshep who romanced liara and then romanced thane, because hes not going to be in the second game. hehe. =D

On my main Shepard playthrough I flirted a bit with Kaidan, because you have to beat the man away with a baseball bat.  Tragically, he held the bomb down on Virmire. 

Romanced Thane in ME2.

I'm staying single in my "main" playthrough of ME because I much prefer the ME2 LIs and want to do everything I can to ensure a happy ending.

Romanced Kaidan in Mass Effect on my main FemShep, but left him on Virmire. Romanced Thane in ME2, and hopefully he'll be in ME3 as well. :3

i tried not to romance anyone on my last ME1 playthrough, and somehow managed to fail.

even my renegade shepard is too nice to turn people down like that.

That was then. This is now. She obviously cared about Shepard then but if she still cared she would have dropped her stupid little revenge game after I helped her out with her chores and come back to me. We were one and the same damnit! Revenge is obviously more important to her than Shepard and the fate of the galaxy.
