The elves and humans both can be the mage origin. Are the two very different when playing as a elve mage and a human mage? If so wouldn't that make it 7 origins?

I'm preeetty sure they both have the same Origin sequence, with race purely affecting social interactions therein and subsequently.

I'd guess the main difference would be NPCs reactions to you. Since elves are second-class citizens in this game, your PC would probably would be even more despised/hated if he was an elven mage. Some group members might feel diffrently about you too i guess (Zevran for instance).

Other than that, I don't think there would be any major difference.

There are differences, storywise. Just go look around for the different previews talking about the mage origin. That make me very, very happy!!!

Ya so basically, the differences between the mage origin as elf and human is just based on the characters race, it isn't really a difference between the mage origin as elf and human though.

People are likely to see you as an elf first and a mage second, other than that, no.
