I'll be honest, before they let us know that DLC content wouldn't carry over, I was ready to buy both DLC's. However, know that I know that I won't get to keep any of it, I'm sitting here right now wondering if they are worth it. Anyone have a compelling arguement for or against buying those. It's keeping me from playing the game atm because I don't want to get to far in before I play them.
Sitting here at odds on whether or not to purchase Warden's Keep and RTO

It's still worth it for the gameplay and story alone

I say go for it. RTO, although short, adds to the story and wardens keep is worth getting the gear even though you don't get to keep it. Besides, if you could keep the dlc gear would you still use it after you get the better advanced gear they will give you in awakening

I have yet to finish this beloved game because I am waiting on Ostagar (ps3)...
Warden's Keep is worth it for the chest alone, but it also contains some *secret special powers* that your character can gain for free...
These *do* carry over...
Regardless, I found WK to be the most returned to section of the game, simply for the "rest in my castle" value.

and they're supposedly / potentially working on a patch so that the DLC stuff does transfer over. and even if that falls through, the story, storage, and items are worth it, even if that last one is just for origins.

RTO is pretty lazy tbh, Its just Ostegar in the snow + darkspawn and about 10 lines of dialogue.
Not really new items either, they're retextures of existing items, still, its only 3 quid / 5 dollars / X euroes.
Wardens keep is alright I guess, again the armour is just a retexture of another already in the game, but at least the areas new, and you have a reason to go back once you finish.

If you care about story, get them.

Considering all of the new items you can get, and the fun of exploring new / revamped areas it is totally worth it. It beats sitting and doing nothing, with the new DLC's you won't be as bored. And who knows, the items might be useful to you and help you later on.

Don't feel like doing a quest to get the reward? Don't care about taking the time to unlock the super ultra secrets? Or perhaps you're simply incapable of winning on your own?
You may be in luck. For a "modest fee", the game's developers might be willing to sell you "something extra" to "boost your performance". Don't worry, it's "not really cheating" since anybody else could do the same, and you gotta trust the game's developers on this, right?

EDIT: Although I did actually get RTO. sigh. Marketing got me.

Do it - it's a really good side quest and you get some interesting goodies. I am currently hoovering up side quests and then I'm a-gonna do RTO before getting back to the main story arc...

I liked both. Wardens Keep was great background on the Wardens and the chest is bonus. Plus you get Starfang as well with it. RtO was okay. Just shows you what happened after the battle. Good equipment when your able to use it as well.

i would keep my money if i were you, because they are simply not good, or maybe because i'm a poor college student who can live on that amount of money for 3 days, and as far as i know they have no impact on the original story. if you have nowhere else to spend your money, then get Warden's Keep and give me the other 5 bucks.

It's not like you're going to play Dragon Age just once, is it? At the end of the day:Erucolindo wrote...

They offer items for your Origins playthrough;
Warden's Keep gives two talents;
They're worth it for the story alone;
It's XP, so you can hit a higher level;
Resources (Elf/Deathroot, potions etc) that do carry forward or are at least useful that playthrough;
Warden's Keep gives Starfang if you get the random encounter, which is a very nice blade.
You can use them in every playthrough you do, and I would say that even with Awakening coming out that they're worth it just for the talents, XP, story and resources.

Don't buy the DLC, don't buy the expension. Why ? Because giving money to a company that's not supporting its game is wrong. So much time has passed, people are still having issues, many quests are still bugged, there's no ancient elven boots and ceremonial gloves (or is it boots ?) in the PC version, the super memory leak of death is still there... and we got no support from bio !
