After the events of ME3, Shepard damn well better receive some sort of fancy vacation home that sits above a dying star (Like TIM) or on a virmire-style planet, The galaxy's supply of credits, and a way to make Little Quarian-Human Babies with tali.

(I KNOW THEY HAVE DIFFERENT DNA CHIRALITY! Just... Let me dream.)

Those are actually pretty interesting suggestions, guys. I could see that being quite doable.

Hope Bioware's listening.

Hope is, however, slim.

Because there are three people in the whole universe who can deal with what needs to be done.

Commander Shepard.

Captain Mal Renolds.

and Jack Sparrow.

The reason is simple, they all have scriptwriters so they don't have to think for themselves.

If you're talking hypothetically if it were real, then I think it's because the human spirit is an amazingly powerful thing.

Many ordinary people have risen up from adversity to do amazing and unbelievable things if the situation requires. Sure he probably should have cracked, but I don't believe you would crack just because it's heavy stuff, Shepard has never been in a situation out of his control. He's never been there when there was absolutely nothing he could do. Well, once, and he died. So I think that as long as their is choice or ammo, then Shepard cannot and will not crack. Period.

I'd put President Sherridan on that list as well. He also died and got better.

I'm really looking forward to retirement after defeating the Reapers once and for all. You know, sunbathing at the pool's side with my girl, writing a biography, answering to the fan-mail. That kind of thing.

Heh, I keep thinking that squadmates should do some sort of loyalty mission for Shepard, to help him/her focus on a mission.

Any ideas what it should be?

Tracking down LI from ME1 and making them at least listen to an explanation, getting turian councilor aquainted with a Reaper and feeding the one responsible for Akuze to thresher maw come in mind...

Look I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe your Shepard is crazy, but MY Shep is perfectly mentally balanced.

Well what happens if BW adds in a scene where Shepard could not take it Posted Image

*Just prior to Suicide Mission *

Shepard: Joker i don't know... i can't do this.... *collapses head in knees*

Joker: Commander, you have to hold it together.

Shepard: We lost nearly everyone, I can't... I can't go on....*cries*

Joker: Commander... Look it was my fault. I didn't manage to save them. Don't blame yourself, blame me

EDI: Shepard, there was nothing anyone could have done.

Shepard: I'm thinking of telling Anderson everything, maybe they will send another Spectre to handle this. *dazed look*

Joker: Yeah right, the council would finally believe us. Commander, the crew... the crew might not be dead but if we don't do anything they will be.

Shepard: Don't you get it Joker? I can't take this anymore. Its too much. Too much for anyone to take.

Joker: That's the reason why we are all here commander. We'll do this together.

Paragon Choice (greyed out, 100% paragon needed): I have to pull together, for the crew, for everyone
Renegade Choice (greyed out, 100% renegade needed): Damn, i have to stop being a total wuss.
Middle choice: I can't go on (enabled)

*Critical mission failure*

Wooow, I know its slightly humourous but I really like those choices with the dialogue option.....

the locker scene was a nice touch in ME1.... that showed Shep clearly under stress, and it took an LI to pull him/her out of it

Maybe this is why there's a LOT of booze in ME2? Shep drinks the problems away??

it would be great if he/she starts going isane but the Love interest comforts him/her telling him it will be alright. a nice idea for romance road.

or the entire crew helps him.

Shepard's balls are too big for him to have a mental breakdown

In both games, he acted as if he knew he was in a role-playing game

How much better adjusted could he get!?

didn't they say he's "The best"? I think that would pretty much cover why he can take in so much "WTF" momments.

or the entire crew helps him.

Crew: "Shepard, we came to check on you... what's wrong?"
Shepard: "Guys, I'm sick of it. The Alliance won't listen, the Reapers..."
Crew: "Awwwwwwww" *collective hug*
Shepard: "Thanks. I should go."
Crew: "Good to see you back, Commander!"

That was a fantastic scene. A situation that was out of Shepards control. He wanted to help and stop Saren, but was shot down by politics and very very pissed off and worried at the same time. LI comforted him and made him think if there is a way, and Andersson gave that way. And BAM, Shepard was pwning again.

I do not really support total mental breakdown as Shepard IS a professional and well capable of shelving issues until job is done. Though AFTER Reaper invasion is over I can see him very well doing all kinds of stress release. Drinking and wasting his arse off (Krogan Ryncol FTW), doing sweet monkeydoodoolove with his LI, punching certain councilor and just speaking to his psychiatrist Kelly Chambers...

But yes, more scenes like above ME1 part where Shepard is NOT pwning and in control of the situation would be more welcome.

The right Shepard can have all his parents and friends brutally killed by batarians when he's sixteen. Live to see his entire squad get eaten alive by thresher maws (imagine watching your entire ME1/ME2 squad getting picked off one-by-one leaving only you standing). Go through personal hell fighting once-human zombies, evil robots, a giant "plant", Kaidan/Ashley Virmired, Saren, Sovereign-Frog-Saren, the Collectors, can watch a great many/all of his ME2 squad die, murder a giant Reaper baby.

He's damn well due a mental breakdown.

Shame it's most likely not going to happen. Players would get all pissy about "their" Shepard being a wuss.
