I just finished my second play through and Jack now tells me to "F*** off!" As far as I can tell I didn't do anything to warrant that other than not pursue a relationship. I talked to her up to the point where she says something about needing time to think, but I never had a romance with her or anyone in case Ashley is in ME3.

At least maleShep is given the option to not be romantic with Jack. FemShep is not allowed to talk to Jacob about anything without it becoming sickeningly flirty.

Jack only has 2 endings - If you don't romance her, you get the same ending as if you took the renegade sex route. You can't be friends with Jack. She doesn't have friends.

I got that as well. It's a little weird. The options led me to believe I was just trying to be friends with her, suddenly she's telling me to F off and complaining about other relationships. I guess if she can't sleep with you, she doesn't want to talk to you.

She doesn't really want to sleep with you either. If you do that (just sleep with her, the renegade path), she doesn't talk to you afterwards, the same way as if you're just trying to be friends.

Don't take it personally. Jack doesn't want to talk to -anyone-. Ever. it's only through taking the paragon path that you can start to crack her barriers. Jack doesn't want you sleep with her. She wants you to love her. But she'll never admit it - And if you don't want that, then she doesn't want anything to do with you.

There is a point where you have to say... "NO!  I'm not interested in you!"  It is the lower right option where you usually find renegade.  You have to make sure you say you aren't interested in her when she talks about you two going through a lot together.

I don't like the direction you can take with Jack. I mean, at the end of things, all roads point towards a relationship, or not even a friendship; why can't you just get to know her as a friend? You have to end up romancing her, or you won't be able to even talk to her.  End of story.  It sucks.

I like this about Jack. Everyone else is so compliant. If you reject them they'll still be perfectly civil to you. It's nice to see some actual character. I think Jack's reactions are pretty accurate to her personality.

No he isn't! Even if you say you're NOT interested (the "No thanks" option when she asks you if you want sex), your MaleShep'll totally overrule you and make it look like he wants to sleep with her!

... Which is why I stopped talking to her at all.

I have to say, for all her other... eccentricities, the romance cutscene with Jack was the one that I found the most of the lot (among the options for a male Shepard at any rate). Which is why it makes me feel slightly sad to think that a relationship with her seems destined to end badly (at least the way it's made out to be in the game).

You might have slipped and picked the paragon option, because no thanks was a clear, "I don't want to sex you at all" answer.
