You can't ever really be 'friends' with Jack, but if you avoid talking about her past relationships she won't ask you if you just want to **** her in the same conversation. If you do ask her about past relationships, she will interject asking if you want to have sex when you try to leave, and there's no getting out of the romance from that point from what I've seen.

Jack actively ruined her body due to deep-seated self-loathing.

How did she actively ruin her body?  Scares are a side effect of combat and tattoos are a decorative choice.  Not everyones into them but I don't think it constitutes actively ruining her body.

Oh please, a few elegant tattoos can enhance the beauty of a body.
Completely covering it in vulgar scribbles ruin it. There's probably not enough acid in the universe to get rid of those monstrocities.
And don't get me started on her hair.

Vulgar scribbles? Ok now you are just making stuff up. She doesn't even have words for tatoos. How can a tatoo be vulgar when it's just decoration. There are no swear words or naked people tatoos on her. And her hair is perfect. Thane looks like a freaking frog so Idk how you can say Jack is ugly and Thane isn't. It doesn't matter whether they chose what they look like or not. Ugly is ugly. And if you don't at least think Jack's face is attractive, then you have greater issues...

Looked like crop circles first time I saw them. Plus they're off-center and crooked.

Well, she already had a crapton of clinical tattoos from the experiments that caused the scars. She probably got the other tattoos to cover those up.

1) Some may care for the skinhead look. Whatever. I'm actually talking about the patterns she has shaved into it, making it look like she has crop circles on her head. Which I suppose is practical if you want your head to be a landing pad for UFOs



2) Her tattoos are vulgar in that they're ugly, cheap looking and overlap each other horribly.

You pick the option. "No Romance"

You are no out of the Romance. Jack wont have anything new to say to you, like all the other LI you don't pick. But she wont tell you to **** off. She just says "Shepard your just messing around, and I don't wanna play."

I know.  It's actually really easy to not romance someone in an ME game.  The dialog choices are pretty obvious.  People had trouble with accidently 'romancing' Liara in ME1 as well.  I don't get it.

But yeah, if you turn Jack down, you get 'friend-zoned' at that same dialog loops over and over for the remainder of the game.  Same happens if you play as a FemShep.

It's an obnoxious workaround, but I've found that if you keep talking to members of the opposite sex to a minimum, COMPLETE a romance with the character you want to, then finish the conversation options with members of the opposite sex (during the extra end of game do all the side missions section) you manage to pull off "just friends" with the other characters. My conversations with Jack ended with "Hey Shepard, nobody's ever asked me about this ****. Thanks." (Paraphrased).



There's a thread somewhere around here about making romances Charm/Intimidate options, and I think that's a great idea. If you want to be just a friend, avoid the colored choices. Problem solved!

Its not odd iys how bioware games work..you cant have friends relationships( maybe in DAO) with possible romance PCs if you keep talking to em it always go to romance

ME1 wasn't like this, however.  I ended the potential romance with Kaidan in the first convo I had with him, but he still talked to me afterwards (I think there are 3 more convos after the first?)

The ME2 model is no romance = no more talking for some characters.  If you keep talking to them it only goes to romance if you want it to.  If you don't, it goes to the friendship loop dialog.

Yes, Megan Fox is extrememly hot, but I really can't stand her as a person or actress. So I wouldn't want her to play Jack if there's an ME movie (which I hope there isn't. Movies based off of video games tend to suck).

I'd want Rhiana Griffith to be Jack anyway. Since she is Jack in Pitch Black.
