I hate the cain.

I've only used the Cain once - to get the achievement. I hate "skip boss" weapons like that, they detract from the experience IMO.
The only time I ever used the Cain was the crate protection mission. Was able to save all of them, but it seemed like a pretty useless, albiet shock-n-awe, kinda weapon.

The Collector Particle Beam is great to use because of it's large ammo capacity, power and the simple fact that you have total control over it. For any non-soldier class, it's basically a replacement Assault Rifle until you get the real thing.
Not only that, but it's also the primary way of mashing shields for classes that don't have an anti-shield ability.

But most of the time I used the Particle Beam, precise, lots of ammo and hardhitting...
The Only thing I didn't liked was the way they are "stored" on ones back... unless using the grenade launcher it just didn't felt and looked right and even with the gr'auncher it just looked to crowded...

I used heavy weapons constantly on my first playthrough... while I usually reserved them for harder enemies like YMIR Bots and such, but it was always fun to scatter a group of enemies around with the grenade launcher or freezing them...

That's part of the reason why I like the Particle Beam, it seems to fit snugly between my Viper and Revenant.
On the subject of heavy weapons, are we ever going to see the Blackstorm available to more than the smal percentage who happened to pre-order it from whichever shop offered it as an exclusive? It seems a bit of shame to leave that as permanently unavailable piece of kit.

Yea, my first playthrough, I kept noticing how I always forgot to use my heavy weapons in fights, but now that I'm playing on insanity as an adept, I pretty much get forced to use it sometimes.
Also, as an infiltrator, it is awesome using heavy weapons while cloaked. It doesn't work with heavy weapons you have to charge up, but with a missile launcher or grenade launcher, they do so much more damage! I remember first getting the grenade launcher in the opening mission, immediately cloaking, and just blowing the hell out of the whole group of robots with one shot!
You are supposed to take them out with one shot, as all classes.

Or it was automatically restocked each time you returned to the Normandy.

@Those who didn't get the BlackStorm. I really hope they make all of the pre-order DLC available later. I only got mine because of a friend who pre-ordered it, and didn't like it. (He's too rich for his own good.)
