Installed fine. When I go to set up characteri t gives me the option to import player but no sved games are shown. ME1 is still installed, tried moving my last saved game from ME1 into the ME2 folder, and ME2 saved game folder too, but no joy.

The correct location is in an /ME1 subfolder of your ME2 savegame folder. The ME2 configuration utility will create this folder and move your saves there for you if you tell it where your old saves are currently stored on your PC

I can't do it. ive copied the character files from ME1 into ME2 and nothing. I have gone to the ME2 configuration and tried importing my character but it doesnt let me choose the files i want to import. I am still not completly sure on how to import my character. Is there a way to do it without changing many system files around?

Use the import function in the ME2 configuration utility.
