EDITED: I believe why ME2 failed for a good portion of us is because of Bioware's focus on the mainstream crowd though business wise it is prefect for making quick money but overall you guys lost the main plot on this switch of focus. I'm a fan of you guys and I love your work but ME2 disappointed me and most likely many others. I hope on your next project you guys focus on more on the story of a game than trying to please every crowd out there.

ME2 is a great game but its not as great as its predecessor for the fact that the focus was different which Imo sacrificed the main plot and the immersion.
<_<

I agree that ME3 shouldn't make compromises in order to attract new players, but seriously, you need to speak for yourself.

Fan of BioWare since BG1.  Loved ME2.

I wish the "true fans" would stop making these threads speaking for the rest of us.

ME2 a dissapointment?! Are you serious?! I'm a "Die Hard" fan of Bioware since the first Baldur's Gate and I think ME1 was great and ME2 is even greater! Don't shout your personal thoughts like general opinions!

They just need to make simple flash games like "wack-a-thresher-maw" and "How many items can you omni-gel in 30 seconds" so people can stop longing for the old days.

Bg1 and beyond fan here

ME2 is only behind BG2 as my favorite game of all time

Does it have flaws? Sure, but every game will. Accept how much better the good stuff is and accept that nothing will be perfect.

Also Diehard fans will not cry about small changes... They will accept them because they love the series to much to care about small changes.

Amen.

P.S. If you were that disappointed, why is your avatar ME 2 Joker and why do you sport that "Assuming Direct Control" banner as your sig?

I am sticking it out, I only said I myself that I was disappointed (Still looking forward to ME3 btw) but there is some die hards fans who gave up on 'em (Revering to some of the members I saw).

People need to grow up IMHO. Expecting BW to produce games that sell less just to make some of their fans that are not willing to accept any change at all happy is a little immature.
If BioWare would have listened to those so called die hard fans only they would be out of business by now.

Agreed. I got more enjoyment out of ME2 than I did from Dragon Age, KotOR or even BG2.

Also quoting here.
OP, I do respect your opinion but looking at the thread statistically it looks more like the "die hard" fans actually
love ME2.

To clarify by die hard fans... I meant the RPG folk.

I would think that BioWare would be doing their "true" fans disservice if they didn't try to expand the genre.

If you're looking for Dragon Age in space, you're better off just playing Dragon Age.

It's like saying "Big Macs SUCK!" while eating one, claiming the pickles are good.

I approve this message:lol:.
ME 2 had some flaws (planet scanning, lack of armor for squadmates, minor glitches), but for me it was far superior experience than ME 1 (which was also great).

Certainly Baldur's Gate is an RPG. So we are also RPG folk. But maybe we're just more open minded than those inventory complaining people?
